Incense To In Know Sense

‘In Wuhan, a steel-gray sky hung over the melancholy day of Li’s death. An impromptu memorial of flowers, a black-and-white photograph and singed cigarettes — a stand-in for joss sticks — formed at the entrance of the hospital where he had died.’

incense (n.)

late 13c., “gum or other substance producing a sweet smell when burned,” from Old French encens (12c.), from Late Latin incensum “burnt incense,” literally “that which is burnt,” noun use of neuter past participle of Latin incendere “set on fire” (see incendiary). Meaning “smoke or perfume of incense” is from late 14c.

incense (v.1)

early 15c., encensen “to arouse, inspire,” from Old French incenser, from Latin incensare, frequentative of incendere “set on fire,” figuratively “incite, enrage, rouse” (see incendiary). From mid-15c. as “to provoke, anger.” Literal sense “to heat, make (something) hot” is from c. 1500 in English but is rare.

incense (v.2)

“to offer incense, perfume with incense, fumigate (something) with incense,” late 13c., encensenincensen, from incense (n.) or from Old French encenser (11c.), or directly from Medieval Latin incensare.

This week, Dear Reader, I have been incensed. Why? Lots of reasons. I should have known from the start…

This one is gonna be cake.

After 30 days of this, everyone is entitled to cake.

Roob’s first song pick…

It wasn’t until very recently that it dawned on me that the initials of this song, spell out my name…

R.U.T.H. = Can be slow on the uptake

*Good fing I knock about with an Hillman eh, Clicky? …/blow smoke rings…*

Cade’s second song pick…

Before I get to the song that makes me think about me, prolly best for me to say thanks to Roob for enduring this. She’d had to jump through a lot of hoops over the past month, she was ill for a good portion of that time, I think part of her family was ill over the holidays, but she’s hung in there and gotten the job done. Also gotta make a note that it was great that others participated too. Always nice when others contribute, and good conversation is good. Ya’ll have submitted a lot of music that I’ve never heard before, and I likely never would have heard it had you not chimed in. From me, thanks.

For those unaware, I’ve been writing for and with Roob for 3 years now. We celebrated (with zero fanfare) our 3 year anniversary back in December, and it’s been hella fun. I’ve learned a lot from her. Nod to Legiron and CynaraeStMary for their friendship and mentoring as well.

^benny benassi feat. channing – come fly away^

Roob’s second song pick…

Back in the middle of 2012, when I first created my online avatar ‘RooBeeDoo2’ in order to join I.S.I.S, I was working in Construction Logistics as a Logistician’s Logistican. Frank and fellow I.S.I.S members started to addressed me as ‘Roobee’. Understandable really; RooBeeDoo2 is a bit of a mouthful…

Roobee = Ruby = Creative & Constructive

Cade’s third song pick…

mistycheeryimperatorangel-small

There’s nothing for me to plug here, I have nothing to gain by doing this, so I don’t feel entirely guilty for what I am about to do. However, music that makes me think about me, is music that I myself wrote and performed. Years were spent sitting alone in a room writing and playing music. I have a giant box filled with cassettes on which contain these efforts, hundred upon hundreds of songs and song ideas, and its unfortunate that many of the songs that I am thinking of right now I’ll not be able to share with you here. Just no way for me to share them at this time. However, I will share a something I don’t really expect anyone to listen to, but yeah…this shit right here, makes me, think about me.

BTW, if you have an urge to listen to what little I was able to transfer to digital from analog, there’s a playlist of various nonsense of mine from 1989-1992.

^Devil’s Work – Side: Fun – Tracks 1 & 2 (1991)^

Roob’s third song pick…

Back at the end of 2012, when I first started experiencing ‘syncs’, I started writing about them on MEROVEE. From the start, Frank and the fellow commentating Mero-VEEPs referred to me by the much simpler ‘Roob’…

Cade’s first song pick…

I guess I’m gonna have to go way way back here. My “love life” has been shit as of late.

 Utter shite

I guess my love life has been shit anyway. No idea as to the protocols for keeping score on scoring, nor who is keeping score, nor why. I’m single, no prospects, I have no intention of having any prospects, so yeah…shit. I guess I’m just not “In The Mood For Love”. This means we’re going to have to go way way way WAY back to where I was a starry-eyed kid laying on the floor, listening to music, and dreaming of my dream gal.

Thoughtful Man and I just celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary at the weekend. I say celebrate; he reminded me, I congratulated us and he grumbled that he would serve less time for murder. Neither of us are of a particularly romantic bent…

*And it was Pops’ birthday… /lights up and smokes… Nearly the oldest in the house… /flicks ash… but not quite yet…*

^Peter Gabriel – Don’t Give Up (ft. Kate Bush)^

Cade’s second song pick…

This next one may not seem like a love song or a song that makes you want to love to many, but it is to me. This track is off of what is prolly my favorite AC/DC album. Before you dismiss that thought out of hand, AC/DC was “my band” as a kid, and I had all their albums. ALL of their albums. Imports, rarities, anything I could get my hands on, and I liked pretty much everything they did.

Anyway, I can recall relating to the song mainly because even from a very young age, my personal path seemed as tho it was gonna be a rocky one. I’m quite plain, average in just about every category, sickly, not that smart, not really good at anything, so chicks weren’t exactly throwing themselves at me. Figure it prolly best that I treat anyone who is interested in me as best I can. Tragic that I’ll prolly be no good at that either. But, I can try.

/shrug

Never know when you are going to bump into someone that is also looking for somebody to shove.

BLOOPS! I mean, somebody to love, not shove.

Lyrics are here for anyone who wants to sing along.

^Up to My Neck in You^

Roob’s second song pick…

Falling in love is easy; I do it all the time. The night the boys came home from the hospital, after their birth was very fraught indeed. The late summer night was hot and sultry, which made them cry. The nappies we’d got were way too big, so every time they peed, they got wet, then cried. They cried a lot. Thoughtful Man and I were snipping and sniping at each other in our rising panic, which made them cry. Just what the holy, motherfucking hell had we done!?

Just before dawn, Thoughtful Man decided to try music. He chose a song, scooped a wailing bundle in each arm and hit ‘play’ on the CD player with his big toe. He rocked back and forth, singing softly. The twins stopped crying and I fell in love again…

This 30 Day Challenge thing is getting personal. Not sure how smart it is of me to open up too much. Might be sneaky fuckers out there trying to find out what turns me on, all so they can get in my pants.

ROFL

Um, where was I? OH YEAH! FANTASY LAND!!! Digress.

Love is weird. I’m not sure if Love is a thing made up of many things, or many things made up of some single thing. Maybe its both of those. Either of those? No idea. I do know that Love is one of the best timekeepers that I’ve ever found. When all other time and times are fuzzy and unclear, Love is quite distinct, whether it be present or not. When Love is there, you know it. When Love isn’t there, you know it. When Love’s companion Hate is there, you know it. Etc.. Which, I personally think that Hate is just Love through a different filter.

I kinda see Love as a light inside of an old-style cheese grater that is spinning. The source of the Love is quite pure, but it needs some filtering before it gets to us. It needs to be cut. The pure stuff is way too potent. Deadly. So yeah, the Love is inside the cheese grater, the grater is spinning, and the cheesy goodness type of Love that we humans can understand is being slung and spewed out all over the cosmos. ‘Cept more like a disco ball or disco lights kinda things. Maybe that’s why discos and nachos are so popular?

/me shrugs again

Love is weird.

Day 23: songs everyone should listen to

Cade’s first song pick…

Day 23. Where are we? Airstrip One in Oceania? Is the year 1984? Is my name Winston Smith? Am I currently being imprisoned in the Ministry of Love by the Thought Police? Accused of thought crimes, covered in rats, and being re-educated so as to direct my affections toward the intangible Big Brother instead of the tangible Julia?

Should

  Shall

Have To

Got To

I’ve intercepted my own thought process(es), because I honestly cannot think of a single song that I think everyone should listen to.

^“Gotta Dance” — Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse, 1952^

Clicky’s first song pick…

^Head Over Heels^

Cade’s second song pick…

Music (to me) is about discovering how to explore freedom(s) that we as individuals may be fortunate enough to have. There are many people who cannot hear, or cannot hear well, and probably a lot of people in the world who do not have access to music and/or do not have access to mediums that allow them to listen to music. As a result, this pathway is kinda closed to a great many individuals. So for me to suggest that “everyone should” listen to a certain song is akin to saying everyone needs to go out and buy a radio. Or a CD player. Or a radio with a CD player in it. You need to accessorize in order to gain access to the magic I am about to demand you participate in. Engage the supply chains. Consume. Become one, with the one.

^Manufacture – World Control^

^The Police – Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic^

Cade’s third song pick…

My heart just isn’t in it today. Couldn’t think of anything yesterday, can’t think of anything today, and to top it all off, I learned yesterday that Neil Peart of Rush has died. Yeah, “The Professor” was one of the best rock drummers to date, he was an incredible percussionist and musician. But a lot of people don’t know that he was also the group’s lyricist, and is legendary for being an avid reader and literary enthusiast.

A modern day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today’s Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride

Though his mind is not for rent
Don’t put him down as arrogant
His reserve, a quiet defense
Riding out the day’s events
The river

Rush – Tom Sawyer – From the album Moving Pictures

Pretty sure the first album of theirs that I heard in its entirety was A Farewell To Kings, and I likely first heard it in 1978. It has two of their most iconic songs in Xanadu and Closer To The Heart, the whole album is incredible, but for me, Cygnus X-1 Book 1: The Voyage is the song from that album that means the most to me personally. For those perhaps unaware, Cygnus X-1 is a Black Hole. I think it fair to say that the song(s) had quite the impact on my 10 year old mind.

Look, all I’m saying I guess is that I can’t think in totalitarian kinds of thought streams in the wake of learning that one of my biggest musical and lyrical influences/inspirations has passed. I don’t mind suggesting things for others to listen to, or sharing music that I like with others. But how you as an individual choose to exercise your freedom as to whether or not to listen? That’s your bag.

Day 5: A song that needs to be played loud

^Underworld – Born Slippy (Nuxx) (Creative Commission version)^

Cade brings loud songs to Roob

*He’s turned up? Brilliant! …/smokes contentedly…*

Cade’s first song pick…

I challenged this challenge that challenged me. I didn’t expect this challenge to challenge me back. Also didn’t know if this challenge would challenge me, but admit that I did have the slightest twinge of fear that I would not be able to adequately rise to the challenges this challenge may present. If day 4 was a void of nothing for me, Day 5 is suddenly a void of everything for me.

Day 4 = nothing to choose from.

Day 5 = everything to choose from.

The question is, do I let it flow? Meaning, do I choose the songs in order as they come to me? Or do I sit and stew and try to pick songs that I may have forgotten about. So far, all my picks have been whatever arrived from the memory banks first, so prolly best that I stick with that for as long as the well is producing water.

This was the first one in, and I can see myself rocking out in the home that I grew up in, black light on, AC/DC and black light posters all over the wall, and maybe me doing some air-guitar. Problem is, I could not remember the name of the song, and I was also under the impression that this song was off the album ‘Fair Warning’. Not so. It was off the album ‘Women And Children First’.

^Van Halen – Romeo Delight^

Roob’s second song pick…

My second song to be played loud is ‘I Could Be So Good For You’ by Dennis Waterman…

… and theme song from the TV series, ‘Minder’. I bought it as a single and love to sing along to it, so it’s pretty fucking essential that the song is played LOUD 😉

^Dennis Waterman – I Could Be So Good For You^

Cade’s second song pick…

Man, what a great tune. Weird as hell too. Songs like that one always intrigued me when I was young. What the authors were thinking when they wrote all that craziness? What inspires such madness? How did all that chaos come together to make some tangible and somewhat coherent something? Who in the FUCK thinks like that?!?!?!? Oh yeah…people like me. So yeah, the music made sense, but how to tame that energy, turn it into a trade, and eventually make a career out of it was a huge mystery. Anyway, whilst digging for the previous tune, I stumbled across yet another song of Van Halen’s that needs to be played at a high volume, but it’s not my next pick.

https://youtu.be/R89kJJ4OeEA

^The Prodigy – Smack My Bitch Up^

YouTube does not appear to like that song. Can’t say that blame them because I too was not particularly fond of the title and lyrics/was also taken somewhat aback when I first heard it. It was, and is, shocking. I hate violence, and more than that, I hate violent people. That said, I’d been around music and musicians long enough to know that there had to be some kind of secondary meaning. Something hidden. Some something that made The Prodigy “cross the line”, as it were. As to what the song meaning is? What the song is about? That’s for you to decide your own damn self. Digress.

Roob’s third song pick…

I’m going to cheat a little for my third choice, because it’s difficult to choose a single track from the Human League’ ‘Love and Dancing’ album. So here’s side A to pound and tickle your eardrums at the same time 😀

^League Unlimited Orchestra – Love and Dancing (Side A)^

Cade’s third song pick…

Two songs are tangling for my third pick. I could likely go on ad-infinitum with songs that need to be play loud, but I’ve no desire to create a ridiculous amount of work for Roob. Really am torn as to which of the two songs I am currently thinking about to use here, but I’ll stick with the one that arrived first. No idea how I originally stumbled onto this song, but glad that I did. It fucking rocks.

Adventures in Remote Viewing: Politics and the Pitts

For this past week, Dear Reader, my good buddy, Cade, and I have indulged ourselves in a spot of remote viewing. Three Brad Pitt movies on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and a thoroughly entertaining dose of ‘Dredd’ on Thursday…

*Don’t mind if I do, Clicky… /slides fag from pack… I was feeling dread right up to the Exit Poll, I can tell you… /flicks lighter…*

… There was also the General Election on Thursday, and we remote viewed the results, as they came in through the night, via Yoot Oob…

‘In last week’s Mail on Sunday, after a month and a half travelling from Bolsover to Canterbury, St Ives to Chingford, Wrexham to County Durham, I predicted that Labour’s vaunted Red Wall was on the brink of collapse. I was wrong.

‘It didn’t collapse. It was smashed into a billion pieces. Atomised by the arrogance, ideological blindness, self-righteousness and viciousness of Jeremy Corbyn and his cultish followers.

‘When first elected in 2015, they inherited a battered but proud and functioning party. By the time The Absolute Boy made his graceless resignation speech in the early hours of Friday morning, all that was left was the political equivalent of the Manson clan.’

‘You’ve been actively participating in discovering “meaningful coincidence” for longer than I in some of the realms that we both swim.

*Not sure, Clicky… /smokes… should I go for the long or short answer?*

*Fair enough…*

The short answer is ‘Yes’ and as to why, perhaps an example of ‘meaningful coincidence’ may be helpful in this regard, Dear Reader. It happened today, in fact whilst I was writing this post. I’ll describe in bullet point form:

  • I am currently on a long weekend from work, which I booked off back in the summer because the date coincides with the deadline for submissions to Underdog Anthology 9;

  • Thoughtful Man had other ideas and planned on hiring a skip, so that I could spend part of my long weekend clearing the accumulated crap from the garden this weekend;

  • Boo! I was not looking forward to clearing the crap from the garden;

  • Earlier this week Thoughtful had to spend the skip money on emergency reupholstery on back seat of his taxi;

  • Yay! I didn’t have to spend time this weekend removing the crap from the garden;

  • Yesterday a skip appeared on our next door neighbour’s drive;

  • Thoughtful Man comes home from work this afternoon, whilst I am writing this post, and tells me that our next door neighbour had just offered us use of his skip;

  • The garden is cleared and its accumulated crap is now sitting in next door neighbour’s skip.

Missive From ‘Merica: Missive #137

*Good grief, there’s full Moon, too, Clicky? …/bites lip… There’ll be lunatics abroad tonight…*

As promised in yesterday’s missive, Dear Reader, Cade has very kindly whizzed across the 137th installment of his wonder ramblings for your pleasure. I also mentioned yesterday that today, Friday 13th of September, has a connection with 137. Well, two actually…

Moss Goon

… The date when written out UK style is 13/9…

Moss Goon Reversed

*/Tuts… I haven’t finished yet, Clicky…*

… And 139 is a Twin Prime with 137…

Moss Goon

*Told ya… /sticks out tongue…*

… Plus as September is named for ‘seven’, the date can be conceived as 13/7. Then there’s the Alternative Thinking 37 sync…

*/lights up…*

…Raphael at that site has been thinking deeply and alternatively about ‘137’ for the longest time, and has amassed a 137 treasure trove. Yesterday he published a splendid post, the first in ages. 37 is the 12th Prime and today, of course, is the 37th Friday of 2019…

Scoob and Mystery Machine

*Yeah, yeah, and 37 is also the atomic number of ROOB ID, I AM… /smokes… It ain’t about me, Clicky…*

That’s why I am delighted to be able to present the Text US Okie Devil’s 137th missive for the LoL of it today, Dear Reader…

Enjoy! ❤

Didn’t get the job – got the rejection email earlier. No big deal really – been turned down and/or ignored for prolly a thousand jobs over the past few years. But this one I was qualified for somewhat, and, I aced the typing test. 40 wpm average with a 98.5% accuracy on a 5 minute typing test ain’t that bad, especially for someone who typically doesn’t type by sight. In fact, I never type by sight. Like read something, and type it at the same time. I’m quite impressed with my typing test result. That’s no mean feat.

(me being impressed with myself)

Aphasia

Don't ask why I put that there
^DIE KRUPPS ~ Schmutzfabrik^

SO! What’s up over in Merovee land, eh? Was not my intent to kick a hornet’s nest. Just trying to understand what’s being said. Cade is not known for being the sharpest knife in the drawer, and it’s kinda nice to know where he stands.

^Front 242 – Rhythm of Time (Victor the Cleaner)^

From a learning standpoint, how did I just refer to myself? Would that be considered 2nd person? 4th person? Did some reading, and everything on this seems to center around pronouns, but I referred to myself by name.

AH HA!

Illeism

So yeah...3rd person

I guess in order to refer to yourself in the 4th person, you need both 1st and 3rd person. Wait…didn’t I do that? I used both “Cade” and “he”.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcSLcUoKKXM

^Jump – Funkatarium^

How long until Trump spins his anti-e-cig/fake news crap as a trap. That’s what I’m wondering. Like, some kind of double-cross to “expose” fake news sources…

maybe?

Was reading Leg Iron’s latest post, and it really got me to thinking that PT will likely spin it. He’ll have to, assuming the “fake news” angle actually sticks. Where in the fuck did this vaping legislation even come from? Talk about coming from left-field, I woulda been less shocked if to hear that the President was introducing legislation that limited the number of toilet paper sheets citizens could use when wiping their butts. Not to mention, the limited reading that I’ve done is indicative that this is a regional problem. Meaning, the state in question should deal with it, not the Federal government. Something else is going on here, and I don’t think it has anything to do with THC, black market products or even vaping.

^Front 242 – Happiness (Dance Mix By Underworld)^

Kind of a holdover thought from the previous missive, but have you ever been somewhat submerged in water, had something float up next to you, you tried to push it away, and it winds up floating even closer to you? Or you try and pick it up from underneath the water, but it runs away from your hand? Or you try and distance your entire body from it, but it follows you? That’s kinda what I was thinking with respect to a body moving through a space, how to identify other bodies, and how to know how to react to those bodies without becoming unnecessarily entangled with those bodies because of your actions. I was thinking more about inorganic kinds of things, but these concepts aren’t much different in a lot of cases than dealing with organics. Like swatting at a wasp is likely to just irritate the fuck out of it. Same could be said of a leaf in a pool of water.

Less-destructive/non-destructive travel

That’s what I’m thinking of. To relate, the reason that supersonic travel is out, is because it’s destructive as hell. Commercial passenger parabolic space travel isn’t going to be much better. To relate even further, I just looked up some figures for SpaceX’s Falcon rockets.

For Falcon 9: 156.1 ± 4.9 dB (unweighted) at 125 ft.

For Falcon Heavy: 160.9 ± 4.9 dB (unweighted) at 125 ft.

Now, to put that in perspective. Like, those numbers… they need some perspective. Wanna come along?

It's gonna get loud
^Finitribe ‘We Have Come’^

As you can see, @ 156.1 and 160.9 decibels, the Falcon 9 and Falcon 9 Heavy rockets are hip deep in the intolerable pool. I think a shotgun blast is around 140 decibels, most commercial aircraft are around 130 decibels, and anything around those numbers and above is where the pain thresholds lay. So if we’re gonna have commercial parabolic space travel carting your tubby ass from Dallas to London in 30 minutes, let’s see what the locals are going to have to deal with.

Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport is the world’s fourth busiest airport, offering nearly 1850 flights per day and serving 64 million passengers a year.’

Source = Google – 12 September 2019 @16:22

Now, at 1,850 flights per day for a single airport (D/FW), we kinda need to know what the average passenger load for commercial aircraft is.

What is the average amount of passengers on a plane?

Those numbers look reasonable to me, and it’s something we really need to consider seeing as how, currently, rockets can’t even carry a single person, let alone hundreds. But to be fair, parabolic space flight is likely not the smartest of options for someone traveling from Dallas to Austin or even Dallas to New York. It’s unlikely that 1,850 rockets are going to be blasting off from D/FW each day, so let’s get a bead on the number of international flights that leave from the Metroplex.

Overall, DFW Airport has service to 223 destinations, including 56 international and 167 destinations within the United States. Fifteen of the 27 passenger airlines that serve DFW are foreign-flagged, and 12 are domestic.’

Source = Google – 12 September 2019 @ 16:27

That doesn’t tell us much, but some further reading implies that there are 30 flights per week from D/FW to London area airports, which means an average of 4.2 flights per day.

Q: Could we handle 4 rocket launches per day in this area?

A: ???

No idea, and that’s only the London service. Glass sales are going to go through the fucking roof.

^Skinny Puppy – Tin Omen^

What is the cost effectiveness of devising a system for aircraft that could avoid a bird? What about a system that could avoid an insect? Is that overkill? Altering the course of a 200/300 ton jet just to avoid a mosquito? Especially a mosquito.

Those things suck
^A Split Second – Flesh (Full 12″ Version) (Official video)^

Maybe there’s a balance in the quanta that we are missing. Some something in the ether that knows when and where we are being sloppy as fuck, and maybe where we need to improve in certain areas in order to advance in other areas. Like say… oh, I dunno… maybe in order to increase a certain medical treatment from 30.6% effectiveness to 45.9% effectiveness, all it takes is a reduction of 5% in the number of plants killed by herbicides. That energy has to come from somewhere right? It’s gotta go somewhere too, and there has to be some kind of sustainable something to get it there.

^symphonix – everything you want^

How much of a reduction in life you figure it takes before there’s an implication that life is no longer needed and/or no longer wanted here on our planet. You think it possible that there are solar/galactic/universal audit trails? If so, prolly going to be a lot more audit trails nested in there. Almost like Synthetic CDO’s that are based upon and travel from to and through some base structures. Damn, that sounds like a logistical nightmare. Boy…I sure hope there are some folks thinking in streams like these. Our administration costs could skyrocket if we aren’t somewhat prepared for administratives like that.

I had to sort through missives 001 through 081 to find that formatting. Dunno why I thought there was more to it than that. Oh well, was kinda fun to scan some of the older writings. I’ve discovered that I am somewhat…wordy.

*gasp*
^Anne Clark – Our Darkness^

Speaking of being wordy, ever heard of this?

Neurasthenia

Me either. Damn interesting tho. Sounds like Van Deusen and Beard were at odds as to exactly what the root cause of this condition was, but it seems they were in agreement that it was related to some kind of detachment or dissociative something. REALLY interesting that it was associated with “anyone who lives within the monetary system” and also a “culture-bound syndrome”. No fucking wonder the condition has been deprecated, redacted and/or relegated to the footnotes. Can’t have people thinking that society and/or monetary systems can make you sick. This was all going on in the big fucking middle of the Industrial Revolution too. Ya think maybe people were lamenting days gone by? Developing a hate for the future via a really fucking nasty and confusing present?

Nah. Unpossible

Google Says a Change in Its Algorithm Will Highlight ‘Original Reporting’

First Trump appears to kowtow to fake news, and not a day later, Google is changing their algorithm to give precedence to “whoever gets there first”? Are you really trying to tell me that news reporting agencies and media groups aren’t completely inundated with moles and informers who get paid to steal stories/information prior to publication so the competition can scoop them? Not only that, did Google really just throw it’s hat into the peer-reviewed and/or authentication/validation ring? Whoever appears first in the results is authentic/genuine?

Fuckin-a…and I thought I was an idiot for spending my days pondering time-travel and teleportation. You guys are fucking morons. Of course, thinking about it now, there is a flip side. Anyone engaging in journalistic thievery are going to somewhat expose themselves by rushing to print and trying to beat everyone else to publication so that Google will boost them in the rankings. It’ll take some time for all that to shake out tho. Could be a lot of heads roll. I take my earlier thoughts back Google. Well played.

(maybe)
^Nothing in the Sun – Ceremony^

Thinking about that now, there is another downside tho. This could potentially give basically “data monopolies” to certain publishers. I write about all kinds of stuff that I hear in “the news”. Am I no longer allowed to write about it? This kinda smacks of broadcast news back in the 1970s and maybe 1980s. You get the story, or you don’t. If you beat the competition to a story? They may not bother reporting on the story at all.

But yeah, I’m wondering as to what exactly will constitute “originality” within the scope of specific events. Not only that, but how are you going to handle those common courtesy types of references. Like, where USA Today will start off a story with “The New York Times is reporting that…”? Especially when the story devolves to “But CNN has reported that…”.

How you gonna handle shit like that?

In cases like that, the story has become the story itself and the stories themselves, and an entirely new story has emerged as a result of the original reporting on…whatever in the fuck they’re reporting on. Anyway, I would think a purveyor of information (Google) is not going to be able to retain your illusory image of non-bias with a change like this. May as well go ahead an clutter up the empty space on that main Google page with paid advertisements and other bullshit. The cloak of your plain-covered wrapper advertising an unbiased Google is completely blown.

Seeking that olden fyre of yore.

Thing is…was that monopoly ever yours?

Or did you just read about it.

Redundant?

Even if I’m purposely attempting to be ironic and/or overly expressive and excessive?

K…I’m back. I was washing my hands seeing as how I touched my small and filthy penis, and made the mistake of looking in the mirror whilst I swashed my mitts. As I looked at myself, I got to wondering if there are some better glasses frames out there for me. Maybe these black horn-rimmed glasses aren’t the best for a face like mine.

A face like mine

What kind of eyewear would best compliment a face like mine. The only thing that I could come up with that might better compliment my face, is a welding mask. I wonder if they make those welding masks with a prescription-strength glass.

^The Cure – Lullaby (Official Music Video)^

Impossible. Teleportation is impossible. The complete disassembly and reassembly of a lifeform is impossible. There’s no precedent…there are no precedents. There are no models…there’s nothing but science fiction and fantasy.

I agree with you on all counts

On all counts, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

^Billy Idol- Flesh for Fantasy (lyric video)^

Sometimes, there just isn’t enough to talk about in order to accommodate all the images I stumble across. I am wondering how your week was.

Yeah...you

How the fuck are you? All of this bullshit is pointless without you, and I have a concern for your well-being. Kind of a passive concern, also a clueless concern, but a concern nonetheless. Been watching a lot of compilation videos lately of road ragers, and you are likely out in that mess day after day. Gotta be rough. Seems like the slightest of things will set someone off, and mistakes on the roadways are strictly taboo. No margins for error. No margins at all based on what I’ve been seeing. I wonder if there are people who get in their cars or on the motorcycles or whatever, and get out on the roadways for the specific purpose of finding someone to get pissed off at.

May wanna keep an eye out for pricks like that
^Lords Of Acid – Take Control^

Speaking of these videos that I’ve been watching, some of the “UK Road Rage” videos are pretty funny, some are downright depressing, but there seems to be an overall theme as to establishing who is right/wrong in a given situation. Like, actively pursuing justice in real time. No court, no judge, no jury, no law…have this out, right fucking here, right fucking now.

This isn’t endemic to just and only the UK, but on watching these videos, I woulda assumed that British drivers would be a tad more friendly, and MUCH more forgiving than drivers in America. Small roads, narrow roads, close quarters, lots of twists and turns, lots of intercepts and crossings, few lanes, and MANY more types of vehicles operating in the same environment, not mention lots of pedestrians. Seems like you’d almost have to be a friendly and forgiving person to survive in such an environment.

That appears to not be the case. What really stands out tho? The curses. I’ve watched enough of these vids now to kinda get the feeling that the first word(s) out of a driver’s mouth on the video is indicative of where that person is from.

Upon watching vid after vid, trends began to appear. I could only assume that people from a certain area have more of a propensity to respond a certain way, or call someone a certain something, based on the regional dialect. “Bellend” was the one that kinda got me to thinking, as it appeared that maybe people in the northern regions were more apt to use this word first. Not that I am an expert in British accents, but I do try and keep my ears open/be mindful of them. Was also kinda surprised that the use of “bollocks” is rare in these vids. Did hear it a few times tho. Anyway, just thought that language thing was kinda interesting.

^Deadmau5 + Kaskade – Move For Me [Extended Mix] (1080p) || HD^

Oooooh!!!! I fucking LIKE that one. Wanna see what it looks like at a faster speed? Me too, but I’m not gonna add it here. You wanna speed it up yourself? Right click the link, copy image address, go here, paste the link address in the box, upload the image, and tinker with the speeds to your heart’s content. I’m gonna warn you in advance tho, that one does not speed up well. Speed seemed to cap for me at about 1000%. I’m sure an image with less frames would do better, and at 120 frames total, that image is a shade beefy.

Which reminds me, anyone else notice all the “asteroid” and “asteroid close approach” news lately? It’s been almost daily for several weeks now. Is someone trying to tell us in a roundabout way that some new NEO tracking system has come online and it’s now not only being used, but being used to great effect? If so, I can only imagine how much bad news is ahead, and not just and only the operating costs. Guess I could search for press releases regarding any new tracking systems, but it just seems weird that some new asteroid is in the news almost every goddamn day.

Weird things are strange
^OMC – How Bizarre^

Is it just me? Or do we have a discrepancy between this and this?

Thought maybe I’d be clever and see if there was a song named 137, or maybe a song centered around 137, but found those tones instead. Listened to the first to see how clear it was, then checked the second to see how clear it was, and immediately noticed there was a discrepancy between the two. Wanna see how bad it is? Do this:

  • Open the first video in one tab, pause it, then open the second video in a second tab and pause it as well.
  • Once you have both vids open, start playing the first vid, pop over to the other tab and start playing the second vid.
  • You should hear some oscillation with both vids playing at the same time.

If you wanna play further, open that second link in a tab, then open this in another tab. You’ll get a similar oscillation, but it’ll be different because one is a sine wave, and the other is a square wave, whereas the first two were both sine waves.
