A Fourth Turning Tale – Sauce For The Goose Is Source Code For The Proper Gander…

Sew… Dear Reader, at the very start of the month I posted on my sync thinking that not only are we experiencing a colour revolution, that’s theme is GREEN…

*Indeed Kelly ‘War’ Green, Clicky… /lights up and smokes… and the internet is very much involved, which is just so Matrixy green…*

… but also that our current Fourth/Winter/Crisis Turning probably started earlier than most people think, with the Dot-Com financial crash in 2000 (money/green), closely followed by the felling of the Twin Towers on 9/11 in 2001 (Muslim/green). All Fourth Turnings start with a bang, financial or physical; ours started with both…

*Published in the last First Turning and was some fucking epic foreshadowing, Clicky… /taps ash…*

… Then add a massive outbreak of Foot & Mouth disease in Blighty in 2001, chipping in a wholesale ritual burning of livestock (sickness/green) to really set the tone…

*Ugh. He makes me feel sick, Clicky, that’s green… /dry retch…*

… Of course in between then and now we’ve had:

  • The EU (flag/blue+yellow=green) introducing the Euro currency (money/green);

  • The War on Terror and invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria (Muslim/green);

  • The Arab Spring (green/green);

  • Ukraine War (flag/blue+yellow=green);

  • Catholic Church covering up pedo practices and immigrant Muslim rape gangs targeting British and European white girls (youth/green);

  • Outbreaks of SARS, Swine Flu, Ebola and Covid-19 (sickness/green);

  • Northern Rock crash in 2007 followed by The Financial Crash of 2008 followed by the European debt crisis in 2010 (money/green);

  • Climate Change and Net Zero policies (eco-bollocks/green);

  • Social Justice campaigns (politics of envy/green);

  • Digitization of everything (Matrix/green).

This is just a brief listing from the past 25 years off the top of my head, Dear Reader. I’m sure there are more green colour revolution examples and if you think of any, then please do pop them in the comments, below 😀

*Ha! The idiom mutilated for the post’s title. Thanks Clicky… /puffs contentedly… You know, EM Burlingame reckons the Estrogens are behind it all…*

… Speaking of comments, it was in the comment section of my post of 1st December that I noticed that the movie Magnolia was also released in 1999, the same year as The Matrix. It occurred to me that perhaps an opposing force was running a Green counter-colour revolution. Perhaps the film should have been called MAGAnolia 😉

… Whereas The Matrix is about escaping from a digital green prison, Magnolia deals with the fallout from generational relationships – all very Fourth Turning Generational Theory – topped off with a sudden storm of green frogs cascading out of nowhere, creating chaos and changing everything…

*Did you know Hillary Clinton’s Secret Service code name was ‘Evergreen’, Clicky? …/stubs butt… Of course the witch is ever green. Thank goodness she didn’t win in 2016…*

… And precipitating a healing process for the cast of characters. Great film, Magnolia. Sorry for the frog spoiler, Dear Reader, but it is definitely worth a viewing…

*There is no ‘QAnon’, Clicky. There is Q, a military operation backing Donald Trump, and there are The Anons, an army of digital frogs, interrogating the Q drops and battling the lamestream media Wormtongues. Seriously, SNL shouldn’t have brought a witch to a wizard fight…*

*Healing the sovereign…*

… The colour green has many positive associations as well as bad, perfect for a counter-revolutionary force as this Winter Kelly Green Fourth Turning comes to an end and the next Spring Green First Turning unfurls…

Dear Reader, green also means GO 😉 Have a Song…

CLICKY: The Tyranny of Experts

*Whoa! That’s very bright, Clicky… /dons sunglasses… Er, what’s the plaster for?*

*’The Snowflake Generation’? Thank you, Clicky! I’ve been wondering how to start this post ever since I mentioned it to Leggy on Friday night…*

CLICKY: Frank’s ‘Public Cynicism Towards Experts’

Professor Brian Cox (born 3rd March 1968, so Generation X/Nomad – see previous LoL post) has a new TV series starting tonight:

Way back to the cave

‘Forces of Nature’ was inspired by a 1611 book, De Nive Sexangula, written by the German astronomist Johannes Kepler, who noticed one winter’s night that although every snowflake falling around him was different, every single one was six-sided. “So he started asking himself why. And he thought that this symmetry must be telling him something about the underlying laws and constituents that make them. It’s genius for someone in 1610 to say that; it’s how a 21st-century physicist would operate. Often, with my TV series, you start with a big question – but that’s a very television way of doing things. Actually, science is about paying attention to tiny things, and that’s how you end up uncovering the fundamental laws of nature.”

I’m pretty sure the EU wasn’t around in 1611, funding Kepler’s discoveries…

*Or indeed Plato in his teaching, Clicky*

I have a different reason to Legs for not liking Professor Cox. It’s a tiny thing really, a bit silly… It’s a Song…

In the 1980s Cox was keyboard player with the rock band Dare.[26] He studied physics at the University of Manchester, where he joined D:Ream,[27] a group that had several hits in the UK charts, including the number one, “Things Can Only Get Better“,[28] later used as a New Labour election anthem.

I dunno… /shrugs… maybe it’s also that toothy grin, easy charm… that utter self-belief…

*Yeah, him as well, Clicky.*

If, as I’ve wondered, the Fourth (Crisis) Turning was born in 2000 with the dot.com crash, or 2001 with 9/11, then the years leading up to it from 1997 were it’s New Labour

leaving the cave

*/wince… Baby leaves it’s cave, Clicky?*

In the months following Labour’s 1997 election victory, referendums were held in Scotland and Wales regarding devolution.

Oh look, they held referendums. I don’t remember there being a clamor to re-run or ignore the results because some objected to the result… Have a Song 😉

TB or not TB … What was the question?

What was that song Labour were so fond of? ‘Things can only get better’?

Clicky got everso excited earlier on today after I showed him a blog post, by Anna Raccoon, about the UK’s No.1 export, prime Wanker Tiny Blur

*I know, Clicky, prominently displaying your logo helps sales, I think …*

Not happy with just bringing peace to the Middle East …

Tony-Blair

… The grate man is now dead-set on bringing ‘tolerance & reconciliation’ to Europe …

Clicky, of course, knew the answer to Ms Raccoon’s question but what really got him somersaulting was the connection with his yet untold past.  I managed to stop him hogging the bar at the Raccoon Arms …

… and to post some of his story here because … to be frank, it is really, really long winded …

*Alright then, it’s not … Yes, it is interesting … Clicky, just get on with it …*

A long, long time ago …

 I can still remember how that music used to make me smile …

 And I knew if I had my chance …

 That I could make those people dance …

And maybe they’d be happy for a while …

But February made me …

With every paper I’d deliver …

Bad news on the doorstep …

I couldn’t take one more step …

I can’t remember if I cried …

When I read about his widowed tousled bride …

But something touched me deep inside …
