Welcome, Dear Reader, to Day 21 of the LoL Song Challenge, and ditties with a name in their title is the focus of our attention today…
^The Ting Tings – That’s Not My Name^
Having missed yesterday’s challenge, Poppy Sweet Pea has been more than generous with her suggestions today, with not one…
^Suzanne Vega – Toms Diner (Official Music Video)^
… Not two…
^Suzanne Vega – Luka (Official Video)^
… Not three but four songs for inclusion…
^The Police – Roxanne^
… With a little one thrown in from her beau, the Underdog, Legs…

Day 21: songs with a name in their title
Cade’s first song pick…
Funny that only two nights ago I was watching a reaction video where the dude was listening to the entire album Treasure by Cocteau Twins. Lotta songs on that album with “a person’s name” in the title. Loads of great music on that album too. But upon my first listening to the album many years ago, there was one in particular that really grabbed me.
^Cocteau Twins – Lorelei -^
Roob’s first song pick…
For this post, I’m gonna pick the three songs with my closest female relatives’ names in their titles, and I shall start with my Nanny Packer. This was her song…
^Dexy’s Midnight Runners – Come On Eileen (Original Promo Restored) (With Lyrics) (1982) (HD)^
Cade’s second song pick…
Got another song in mind, also has a girl’s name in the title, but gonna take a quick detour before getting to that one.
And yes, I realize that “Sue” is also a girl’s name, but, that’s kinda the point of the song. I wore trenches in the 45 listening to this one over and over when I was a kid. The part about fighting always fascinated me. Especially the part where his dad comes at him with a knife and “cut off a piece of my ear”.
WTF?!?!?!??
I guess I related to the song because relations between myself and my own father were always…strained. Makes sense I guess because he and his own father were always at it like a coupla rabid badgers. Maybe it’s genetic.
^Johnny Cash – A Boy Named Sue (Live At San Quentin Jail 1969)^
Roob’s second song pick…
My second song choice is for my Mother and unlike when Nanny P passed away, we did have mum’s song played at her funeral. There was not a dry eye in the place…
^The Beatles – Hey Jude^
Cade’s third song pick…
OK, last one, another girl name. This too popped up recently for me when stumbling across a video where a really smart and sharp dude breaks down songs and shows how they are assembled. He’s got some expensive tools for breaking down the original audio into its various parts, he’s very technical about how he breaks it down, but at the same time he puts a lot of stuff in layman’s terms by showing how the bits of music are assembled. Not to mention that he’s obviously a huge music fan. He’s got one for this next song too if you care to indulge yourself. Blah blah blah …digress.
I really liked this song, but grew up in a time period and geographical location to where admitting as much could get you killed. Wimpy music that only wussies and fags* listen to. Kinda funny considering the musical prowess of the members of Toto. But, all just part of growing up when and where I did.
My last choice is for my sister. To be honest, I was only really familiar with the chorus before today, but mum and dad sang it to her a lot when she was a babe…
^Bobby Sherman – Julie, Do Ya Love Me (1970)^
The final word to Cade…
Gotta give this song a mention, because were it not for this song, I likely would never have met a lot of people that I have met over the past coupla years, and you would not be reading this now. Heard it on one of the first “sync videos” that I ever saw, it was used as background music, and it grabbed me from the get go. I fucking HAD to find this song. I fucking HAD to know who made it. Was kinda funny when I found out that the person who wrote it had actually appeared on my radar before. Coincidence? Possibly. But have you ever had a really long string of words appear randomly in your head? A very succinct something built by two very distinct somethings from your past?
Film: A Thin Skin Or Membrane, God Does Not Play Dice
Yep, that whole thing appeared in my head one day I guess about eight years or so ago now. Sitting alone in the garage, not doing anything, BLAM!!! there it was. Blew my mind because it brought a lot of childhood memories flooding back. Things long forgotten. Especially the mechanics of membranes, how they work, why they exist, etc.. As such, I found myself quite perplexed, was completely cut off and isolated at the time, so I immediately went to Google, searched for the whole string, and “synchromysticism” is what I found. In particular, two videos by someone called “Sealion”…one was a four parter called “Film: A Thin Skin Or Membrane”, and the other a single video called “God Does Not Play Dice”. Quite overwhelming considering my situation at the time. The videos made sense, but at the same time I didn’t understand them. Why me? Why now? Why so succinct and to the point, and yet so vague? Guess I’ll just tighten my seatbelt, and see where it all leads.
I’ve since learned that “sealion” is a slang for a form of harassment where one intrudes on conversations with disingenuous questions. “Sealioning” is I guess throwing up a wall of questions when not actually seeking answers. A method for stealing time. Time-thieves. Right up my alley. Maybe I’m in the right place afterall. Maybe not. No idea.
*Good thinking, Clicky. Buggered if I can remember where we got to…*
Apols! for the two day break in this 30 Day Song Challenge, Dear Reader. I did manage to drag my snot-riddled carcass into work at the Tower on Monday morning, but was promptly sent home…
*The chorus is applicable, Clicky, but the song has a different meaning…*
… But, now I’m on the mend and feeling at least half human again, we can finally get on with the post. No suggestion from Poppy Sweet Pea this time, I’m afraid, but Leggy is provided an absolute corker of a song with many meanings…
^The Damned – Curtain call – The Best Version Sound & Video^
… So, let’s crack on, Dear Reader. Enjoy! 😀
*******
Day 20: songs that have many meanings
Cade’s first song pick…
This is potentially an interesting topic with a lot of latitude. Let’s us start off with something obvious.
^If You See Kay _ APRIL WINE^
Roob’s first song pick…
Considering the unexpected war-like start to the new year…
*/lights up… Yeah, the US bagging the Iranian General in Iraq… /drags… was a bit black swanish, Clicky… /streams smoke…*
… my first pick is a song about a symbol that has different meanings…
*That’s fantastic… /smokes… Whipple the gliding ace should be the name of a swan…*
… To me, it will always mean ‘The Young Ones’ 😀
^MOTÖRHEAD – Ace of Spades on “The Young Ones”^
Cade’s second song pick…
This one qualifies in a less “tongue-in-cheek” kind of way. I’ve thought of using this song several times during the course of this writing. Anyway, I’ve written about this song in previous writings + the album the song appeared on + the album cover = a young mind wandering to some distant and strange places. I honestly have no idea the scope of the places my mind went went I was 7/8 years old, laying on the floor, and listening to this song through headphones while staring at the album cover.
I get the feeling that you don’t always need drugs to “trip“, and the album ‘A Question Of Balance‘ by The Moody Blues is quite possibly one of the strangest ways to get mind, body, spirit and soul to places far afield. The music is…well, it ain’t really Rock-N-Roll…let’s just put it that way. I wouldn’t consider it Progressive either. At the same time, it’s too heavy for me to consider it either Classical or Folk. It’s like some Frankensteined experimental blending of a lot of different musical styles and elements, all joined together to tell some individual narratives in a single tale. And, it’s some pretty fucking good music.
^The Moody Blues- Question^
Roob’s second song pick…
Until 2014, I had never even heard of this next song. It was completely new to Thoughtful Man also, which was a surprise, as he’s a music buff and a collector of songs. Apparently Beatles fans are still arguing amongst themselves as to its meaning, but to me? It means…
*I couldn’t have put it better myself, Clicky… /flicks ash…*
^Glass Onion (Remastered 2009)^
Cade’s third song pick…
Would anyone…choose…to go to hell? Am a bit older now, so what “hell” actually is appears to be not so clearly defined as it was when I was younger. The Greeks appear to have some thoughts on the place, as did the Scandinavians, as do a lot of cultures, so what is this place. Really. What, is, hell? Why, in the hell, would anyone want to go there?
Being textually clever and creative about your own station in life can be dangerous. It may just get you damned. Like say, a rock-n-roll singer and lyricist writing about their experiences within their chosen profession, and writing metaphorically to relate what the experience is actually like. Willingly agreeing to subject your body to all manner of abuses that the job requires. Away from home constantly. On the road, staying in bad motels/hotels, eating crappy food that constantly makes you sick, and everyone wants a piece of you. Loads of investors throwing money at you to do your thing, but they get their money back first, and you get what’s leftover. As this job eats away at you, a black vortex forms on the horizon, it’s pulling you in, and there’s no escaping the inevitable.
This job ...is going... to kill you
It’s almost like, oh…I dunno, working in some place that processes plutonium. Or maybe digging coal or diamonds or copper out of the ground. Maybe you work on and around dangerous machinery. Maybe your job is physically demanding, and you are one single injury away from complete destruction. Maybe you work behind the register in a shop where some idiot can waltz in at any moment with a weapon and take your life over a few bucks. Maybe you work in some building that is loaded with Asbestos, or has lead pipes providing you water, or the walls are covered in lead paint. Maybe you sit on your ass all day in a chair that was not designed for you, at a desk that does not accommodate you, wearing clothing of a type that is not comfortable and/or aesthetically pleasing for you, banging away on a keyboard that was not designed for you, and staring at a radiation emitting device that was not meant to be stared at for long periods of time, all day every day. Any of that might be almost like…choosing, to go, to hell.
^AC/DC – Highway to Hell (Official Video)^
Comes down to morals and ethics. The “honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay” kinds of bullshit. Clean money Vs dirty money. Honest money acquired by honest means.
lolz...ok, if you say so
Did you even notice that Roob has had to post this late because she’s laid up sick? I mean, whatever she has must be a doozy because she was sick most all last week and STILLhad to take time off this week because the shit appears to be getting worse and worse. What do you think her employer thinks about her having to take time off from work on the tail-end of a week’s vacation? What kinds of stresses does that cause on both her and her place of employment? And why is that? Because scammers and scumbags have taken advantage of sick leave and other types of authorized absences? The employers retaliate by taking advantage of the situation and making authorized absences something that employees utilize at their own peril. Or at least, its that way here in the US. Taking a sick day may as well be volunteering to be put on each and every shit-list your employer may have.
Performance Reviews?FUCKED! Advancement Opportunities?FUCKED! Employee loyalty?SUSPECT! Job dedication?SUSPECT! Office gossip and rumor?OPEN FOR BUSINESS! Crap jobs, shit detail(s) and dead-end or impossible projects?THEY’RE ALL YOURS! Working environment/workplace morale?WE’RE ON THE HIGHWAY TO HELL BABY!
There’s always loads of layers to a single something. Lots of angles, lots of interests, lots of players playing in a shitload of games. Guess it just depends on how deep we as individuals are prepared to dive.
^Rush-The Trees (Lyrics)^
Roob’s third song pick…
*”The future of the future, is the present, and this is something people are terrified of”… /stubs butt… What’s he mean by that, Clicky, and what the fuck does it have to do with my third song?*
*The Royal Oak! …/pats snout… Fuck knows how I managed to get in there each week, Clicky – I looked 12!*
All I could think about whilst watching this “debate” was the metaphorical nature of the movie (which I have only recently seen myself for the first time) and also the metaphorical nature of the tales that Jesus wove. Just seems like Jesus/Yeshua or whatever his name was, spent a lot of time trying to get those around them to think. Yes, also to feel, but you don’t spin these metaphorical parables without a desire to get your listeners to think. Inspire them to explore. To relate. And yes, to question. Maybe we sometimes get “the act of questioning” wrong because our ideas on what is/is not respectful become skewed and warped by the safety of the known. The knowledgeable, the wise and the learned “know”, so why discover anything for myself? Just go to the experts, problem solved. Someone tells you “this is the right way, and the only way, so says God” and you are likely going to believe them. I mean…God is on their side, right? Who in their right mind is going to contest God or anyone on God’s side? That must be the right way to go…right?

Day 21 tomorrow, Dear Reader, and Cade and I will be mulling over songs we like with a person’s name their titles. So until then, have a Song ❤
*It’s a bit late now. Poppy will be sobbing her heart out, Clicky…*
Dear Reader, if you’re not already crying, may I suggest you avail yourself of a handkerchief or some tissue…
*Thank you, Clicky…*
…to save the sleeve of whatever top you’re wearing because today we’ll be suggesting some songs that make us sad…
^Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel – Sebastian^
Or think…
*I dunno, Clicky… /furrows brow… I think the state of ‘science’ makes Leggy sad. Or angry. Possibly both…*
*******
Day 10: Songs that make you feel sad
Cade’s first song pick…
Sadness is a weird emotional state. It can house a host of emotions from a longing based in happiness and hope, to soul crushing despair based in hopelessness. This is just me, but I guess I see sadness and happiness both as types of blankets made with different needles and threads utilized differently to produce different weaves. A stupid analogy, I know. But at the same time, and depending on your geographic location, you likely have different linens on your bed in the summer than you do in the winter. Anyway, yeah, in my experience, sadness is like a lot of dissimilar things mixed together, whereas happiness is a little more singular-ish and straightforward.
I listened to this song a lot when I was a kid, but I always saw it more as a mystical kind of song. It wasn’t sad, it wasn’t happy, it was….it was…off the fucking charts weird as hell. Totally different from anything and everything you’d ever heard before, and seemed to cover the entire spectrum of any and every emotion a human is capable of feeling. Of course, then later came the movie “La Bamba”, they used this song in the movie, and the producer’s use of this song most decidedly gave the song a sad edge.
^Santo & Johnny – Sleep walk [Original instrumental]^
Roob’s first song pick…
All three of my sad song selections come from my childhood. ‘Honey’ is the first that I thought of. Today is the first time I’ve heard it all the way through since then. I’m not really a sad song person, but I remember hearing this on the radio and starting to cry…
^Bobby Goldsboro – Honey^
Cade’s second song pick…
There used to be a song that depressed me when I listened to it, but I dunno if there are (currently, at least) any songs that make me sad. Listening to “sad songs” is more about relating to whomever wrote that tear-jerking something. You can relate, or you can’t. The song triggers an empathetic response, or it doesn’t. Maybe if nothing else a sigh of relief in thinking “boy, I’m sure as shit glad that happened to you and not me.”
“Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me” by The Cure has to be one of the best albums out there. If you listen to it from end to end, you’ll be emotionally exhausted by the time the last track finishes. I dunno if I’d classify any of The Cure’s music as “sad”, but they certainly make some music that someone who is sad can relate to. And like all great artists, they usually don’t heave their own personal sadness on top of you the listener. They add some hooks to produce an aspect change in the trajectory of the sadness.
^If Only Tonight We Could Sleep?^
Roob’s second song pick…
If it wasn’t Bobby Goldboro’s ‘Honey’ on the radio, making a small girl cry, it was Terry Jack’s ‘Seasons in the Sun’. Radio Breakfast Show DJs in the 70s were utter bastards…
^Terry Jacks – Seasons In The Sun^
Cade’s third song pick…
Ya know, I’m gonna get to my third choice in just a minute, but before I do, I just recalled bumping into a song not long ago that most decidedly reconnected me with the emotion known as sadness. This song is most decidedly a sad-sounding one. But like most sad songs, its one that is on the upswing. You’ve encountered the sadness, been able to express that sadness in song, the skies are clearing, better days are ahead. But the audio of this recording itself adds some sadness to the tune. The song is already soft, very light with almost all picking with no chords, the accompaniment is almost indiscernible, so the song itself is thin as hell. Add that the recording is ancient, the rip is from 45 rpm vinyl, take into consideration the source (Hawaii) and the time (statehood), and you’ve got a recipe for sad.
Final note is that I did some digging to see if I could find out when this song was actually recorded. The recording sounds more like something done in the 1920’s or 1930’s on 78 rpm vinyl…not something done in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s on 45. So, who the fuck is Tommy Solomon? I don’t think this is him, but that is certainly an interesting find considering the connection to Pacific Islanders. This does not appear to be the Tommy Solomon I’m looking for either, although that’s an interesting find considering that a version of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Third Stone From The Sun‘ by Stevie Ray Vaughan did appear on my radar only recently.
Alas, I cannot find anything on Tommy Solomon, but I did find that the second guitarist on Old Timer’s Hula appears to be someone named James “Jimmy” Moikeha. That’s gotten me no closer to the Tommy I’m looking for tho. Maybe the Tommy I’m looking for also had a ‘native’ name, and he only went by this anglicised handle just this one time.
Back on Day 8 of this song challenge, ‘Drink & Drugs!‘, I mentioned playing records on a portable wind up record player in my bedroom when I couldn’t sleep as a child (I never slept; I drove my parents potty). There were two songs by Harry Nilsson in the little stack of 45s – ‘Coconut’ and this song. This is a sad song and I loved singing along to it…
*Painfully sad, Clicky…*
^Harry Nilsson – Without You^
The final word to Cade…
This song in no way makes me sad. In fact, prolly nothing sad about this song at all. I simply thought of it because of the title of the track…sadeness I don’t think anything by Enigma is really sad, but his/their music sure as shit dances around the naughty ends of the musical scales. Lots of implied darkness and sadness, without being either dark or sad. Weird, eh?
Anyway, I think there were originally three or more different parts to this song, like…Sadeness (I), Sadeness (II), Sadeness (III), etc.. Pretty sure the one below is Sadeness parts I & II back to back.
^Enigma – Sadeness (Full Version)^

And that, Dear Reader, is Day 10 of the Song Challenge. Hopefully we haven’t made you too sad…

A difficult challenge for me today: songs to drive to. Sound easy, but I can’t drive and neither can Poppy Sweet Pea…
*Only if Thoughtful Man is late picking me up and I’m dying for a piss, Clicky…*
*No, a desperate need to poo is more of a clench than a dance…*
… Fortunately, they’ve provided today’s intro songs, and once again, I’ll be relying on Cade to do the heavy lifting. So, buckle up, Dear Reader, it could be a bumpy ride… 😉
*******
Day 7: Songs to drive to
Cade’s first song pick…
Um…this may come off as “a piss take” to my cousins across the pond, but it isn’t. I honestly got nothin’ here. There are no songs that make me want to drive…
*Ow! What you doing, Clicky? …/rubs knees… So Cade read today’s challenge wrong? I’m sure it won’t matter…*
I haven’t owned a car in over 7 years, and I drive maybe 3 or 4 times per year at most. Not only that, I used to listen to albums when I would drive, but I’m getting nothing with respect to “songs that make me want to drive”…
*Look, it’s obviously bugging you, Clicky. Go tell him it’s songs to drive to and see what he sez. I’ll wait…*
*Wadi say?*
*I see. Well, let’s just continue then, shall we? Honestly, Clicky, you’re too persnickety…*
I sit in a room, all day, every day, and rarely venture more than a few feet outside every few days just to look at the sky and see what the weather is doing. What in the FUCK would I know about songs that inspire me to drive?
Automobiles are devices for getting to somewhere. Or maybe even getting away from somewhere. The ability to listen to music whilst in transit is just an added bonus. So yeah, when I lived in Chesapeake Beach Maryland and had to drive 50 miles (80km) to McLean Virginia each way every day? Album. When I lived in Charles Town West Virginia and had to drive 55 miles (88km) to Washington Dulles Airport each way every day? Album. Hell, even when I lived in Mesquite Texas and had to drive 34 miles (54 km) to D/FW Airport each day…album. For short hops in the car? Talk radio. Still…no songs are coming to mind. Am thinking of a lot of albums, but no individual songs.
I can think of some songs that might be thought of as a tune to “drive fast”, but I can’t think of a single song that would make me think: “HEY! I NEED TO JUMP INTO THE CAR AND DRIVE SO I CAN LISTEN TO THIS SONG THAT I COULD JUST AS EASILY LISTEN TO RIGHT HERE AND NOW!!!” Songs that I am thinking of that one might want to drive fast to? Welp, ‘Jesus Built My Hotrod‘ by Ministry, ‘The Race‘ by Yello, ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way‘ by Lenny Kravitz, ‘Who Was In My Room Last Night‘ by the Butthole Sufers, ‘Jawbreaker‘ by Judas Priest, ‘Wango Tango‘ by Ted Nugent, ‘Kickstart My Heart‘ by Motley Crue, ‘Fuel‘ by Metallica, ‘Power And The Glory‘ by Saxon, and maybe even ‘Tommy The Cat‘ by Primus. Not really on that last one by Primus tho. Cool tune, but I personally associate it with flying more than driving because I used to listen to that song when practicing aerobatics on MS Flight Simulator. Digress.
Truth is, I can’t even think of a song that inspires me to drive fast. I’ve owned some high-octane toys in my life. An airplane, a jet-boat, an 1100cc motorcycle and three sports cars. Each has their own peculiarities, but in the cars, every time prior to doing something stupid, step one was to turn the car stereo…off. If I’m doing 140mph (225kph) or better in 1.5 tons of what is potentially rolling death to myself and/or someone else, I want to hear every single thing that car is doing and everything that is going on around me. I wanna hear how the engine sounds, how the road sounds and how the tires sound on the road, how the wind sounds, and it’d also be nice to hear the siren(s) should any suddenly appear as I slow down and they catch up to me. I wanna feel every vibration that car is resonating and transmitting to my body so that I know exactly what is going on in the event there’s a precursor to trouble. Helps me better utilize my eyes to watch the road and the gauges as I’m ripping gears and standing on the accelerator. Can’t achieve all that if the radio is blaring music, irrespective of what the song may be.
^David Bowie I’m Deranged^
Roob’s first song pick…
So as I was saying, I can’t drive a car. I don’t want to drive either. I hated learning to drive…
*Sumfin like that, Clicky…*
I’m just not meant to drive. Trust me, it’s better this way for everybody 😉
^Drive My Car – MonaLisa Twins (The Beatles Cover)^
Cade’s second song pick…
OH! Since the tunes are a bit thin and/or completely irrelevant to the topic…I passed whatshername in the kitchen the other day and mentioned that I was doing this song challenge. Told her the topic for that day, summer, and she said something to the effect of “surely someone picked a Beach Boys song.”
Nope
So seeing as how the Beach Boys are known for “summer music”, they also known somewhat for “driving music” like ‘Fun Fun Fun‘ and/or “car songs” like ‘Little Deuce Coup‘, and also seeing as how today is Christmas Eve, how bout I pass along a or two from a Christmas album that means a great deal to me personally, and you could potentially not even know this album even exists. Yes, The Beach Boys made a Christmas album.
^The Beach Boys – The Man with All the Toys (Lyrics)^
The whole album is really good, and I’m pretty sure that this was the first time that I as a child had heard Christmas music…erm…”take a break from being the same old songs sung by different celebrities”. Don’t get me wrong, there are some carols/Christmas songs performed by certain singers that I loved and were staples around Christmas time. But this Beach Boys album was WAYfucking different from anything I’d ever heard before.
Roob’s second song pick…
Seriously. I’m not even a back seat driver…
^Iggy Pop – The Passenger^
Cade’s third song pick…
Anyway, sorry I couldn’t provide you with any driving music. Hope it doesn’t drive you crazy that I couldn’t deliver. Merry Christmas.
❤
^Little Saint Nick – The Beach Boys • Lyrics •^
Roob’s third song pick…
And I’m not one of those car hating Green nutters neither…
We’ll be back with two posts tomorrow, Dear Reader. I’ll be posting ‘Lust Christmas’, my story from Underdog Anthology 10 for you to read, as well as Day 8 of the Song Challenge – ‘songs about drugs or alcohol’. But not when you’re driving 😉
*Ooh you’ve gone for one of the garden chairs, I see. How appropriate, Clicky…*
Welcome to Day 3 of the 30 day song challenge that Cade fon Apollyon and myself have recklessly embarked upon. Today, Dear Reader, we will be selecting songs that remind us each of ‘summertime’. These may or may not coincide with your own choice of quintessential summertime song, and if not, please feel free to let us know what does in the comment section at the bottom of the post 😀
*******
Day 3: A song that reminds you of summertime
Cade’s first song pick…
This one is strange all around. Stormy like North Texas in Spring. The text of the request is “a song that reminds you of summertime”. My knee-jerk reaction is ‘Summertime Rolls’ by Jane’s Addiction, but the version that I am thinking of is not the original. In fact, the version I am thinking of is actually a remix, of a cover, of the original. But even the original version of ‘Summertime Rolls’ doesn’t remind me of summertime. It reminds me of Fall.
Sterling Virginia, I’m in my car, headed northeast on N. Sterling Blvd, destined for Route 7, all while listening to ‘Nothing’s Shocking’ by Jane’s Addiction on my car’s cassette player. The year, is 1990, and it is likely either a Tuesday or a Wednesday. Evening. The sun is setting behind me. This is not the song I was listening to just over 29 years ago…or was it?
<Losers – Summertime Rolls (Hybrid Remix)>
Roob’s first song pick…
We have LoL regular, Joe Public, to thank for my first song choice. He was rather quick off the mark on Wednesday…
‘In 1995, Jamaican-American rapper Shaggy covered the song, and released it as the lead single from his third studio album, Boombastic. Aside from the addition of rap lyrics, Shaggy’s version also substitutes other lyrics for the song’s original line containing “have a drink, have a drive.” Shaggy also performed the song on an episode of Baywatch. A year after its release, the song was re-recorded and released specifically for the film Flipper under the title “In the Summertime” (’96 Version).’
<Shaggy In The Summertime – Feat. Rayvon – Flipper Movie Version (1996)>
Cade’s second song pick…
If you’ve not yet guessed, we’re going backwards. The song above is the remix of the cover, and now, we can get to the cover. None of this of course, has anything to do with a song that reminds me personally of summertime. Only a song with “summertime” in the title.
<Losers feat. Brian Molko – Summertime Rolls (full version)>
Roob’s second song pick…
I have to go back to 1984 (again!) and a sultry summer night, grooving in a sweaty disco in Magaluf, Majorca for my next summertime song. Believe me, it was hotter than July 😉
<Stevie Wonder – Do I Do (2 Inch Version)>
Cade’s third song pick…
To play catch-up, Jane’s Addiction released an album in August of 1988. That album had a song on it called ‘Summertime Rolls’. I personally am remembering listening to that song while driving sometime during the fall of 1990. In the fall of 2010, the band “Losers” releases a cover of ‘Summertime Rolls’. In the late-winter/early-spring of 2011, the band “Hybrid” releases a remix of Losers’ cover of ‘Summertime Rolls’. Pretty sure that I did not hear that remix until sometime in either 2016 or 2017.
We all on the same page? I hope so, because we are three deep into revisions, and we’re about to hear the original. We’ve covered a lot of time and covered a lot of times, and we’ve also covered a lot of distance…but we are no nearer to a song that makes me personally think about summer.
<Summertime Rolls>
Roob’s third song pick…
Early June 1990 and my third song choice is fucking everywhere. I wanted to stay in and watch England’s opening game of Italia ’90. My best friend, Verity, has other ideas…
*No, Clicky, that’s not it. Verity always played that tune before going out on the pull…*
We go out and I meet Thoughtful Man. Apparently our match turned out a hell of a lot better than England and Holland’s insipid 0-0 draw 😉
*You can say that again, Clicky…*
My third song, one that reminds me of a particular summertime is New Order’s ‘World in Motion’…
<New Order – World In Motion (Official Music Video)>
The final word from Cade…
Other songs that made me kinda think about summer included ‘Summerhead‘ by Cocteau Twins, ‘Saturday In The Park‘ by Chicago, ‘Joy To The World‘ by Three Dog Night, ‘American Pie‘ by Don McClean, “Jamaica Ska‘ by Annette Funicello, and even ‘1812 Overture‘ by Pyotr Tchaikovsky…but those really don’t make me think about summertime nearly as much as any song from the album ‘Twitch’ by Ministry. And I do mean anysong.
For two summers in a row, this album (in audio cassette form) accompanied me to the lake any time I would go, and I’m quite sure I spent a lot of time at the lake during the summers of 1986 and 1987. Water skiing, beer, fishing, swimming, camping, sunshine, and the album ‘Twitch’ by Ministry. Summer 1986 to Summer 1987…I met the love of my life during that period of time. How about a run-on sentence kind of song to represent Twitch, and how an entire album can actually somewhat qualify as a single song that makes me personally think of summertime.
<Ministry – Where you at now + crash and burn + twitch (version II)>

Tomorrow Cade and I will be exploring songs that remind us of people we’d rather forget. A somewhat cruel challenge, if you ask me, especially if you’ve already forgotten the person you’d rather forget…
*Certain knot, Clicky! Now go and get Legs’ summertime song… /stub butt… We started this post with Poppy Sweet Pea’s choice…*
… and this time Cade and I are looking at songs with numbers in their titles…
*Exactly. Like the one Joe Public left in comments yesterday. That was very sweet of him, Clicky…*
…And as with yesterday’s post, we’re gonna start with Cade’s first pick. Enjoy! ❤
*******
Day 2: A song you like with a number in the title
Cade’s first song pick…
Today, I had a tie for first place. Really not sure which one jumped in there first, but for the purposes of this writing, I’ll start with number 9, then move on to 49.
Engine, engine, number nine, Going down Chicago line. If the train jumps off the track, Do you want your money back?
Can’t recall when nor where I originally heard this song (probably my younger sister) but it wandered back into my life about 7 years ago whilst I was having my evening walk at the local park. Amazing the random and long forgotten stuff one stumbles across when rummaging through the storage closets of your own soul.
<Midnight Star – Engine No.9>
Roob’s first song pick…
My first song is a very easy pick for me. ‘Four to the Floor’ by Starsailor was the very first song Thing 1, Looby Lou, sang along to and requested over and over again, whilst being driven about town by Thoughtful Man. He was nearly 3… Ahhh 😀
<Starsailor – Four to the Floor>
Cade’s second song pick…
And now, onward from 9 to 49. What can you not say about this song? It’s funky, it’s bluesy, its slightly sleazy, some swing, some grind, its rock and fucking roll you can bang your head to…all with a dash of Joe Walsh weirdness. It is highly likely that I first heard this song at the local skating rink.
<James Gang – Funk #49>
Roob’s second song pick…
Five is my number – my birth day, divided by my birth month equals 5. The year I was born, when the digits are added together, comes to 5. Both 5 and 55 are Fibonacci numbers and that just so spirally 😀 I have to include a song with 5 in the title, but which to choose?
*/nods… Beethoven’s Fifth would be a good choice, Clicky, but I fancy sumfin more upbeat. Sumfin to dance and sing along to…*
*Perfect!*
Cade’s third song pick…
Was weird that the first two songs that popped into my head, have actual numbers in the title. Me and Roob are doing three songs each for this particular post, so it’d be kinda neato if all three of my songs had actual numbers in the title. However, the next song to pop into my head was Two Time Grime by Skinny Puppy. FUCK! I love that song, but no actual number in the title. What to do?
‘Gymnopedie No. 1’ by Erik Satie just popped into my head…it has an actual number in the title. Now ‘Piano Concerto No. 21’ by Wolfgang Mozart has popped into my head…it has two actual numbers in the title. After thinking even further, ‘8:15 To Nowhere’ by Vicious Pink has floated into my brain on a breeze…it has three actual numbers and a colon in the title.
Holy SHIT!!! A spoiler just appeared on my radar. On top of all that number crunching, I stumbled across a song in my head with a really weird kind of number in the title. I think I’ll save the spoiler song for the comments section, you can look up those above three works if you so desire, and I’m gonna stick with the original #3. Quick question before we get there tho…
Q: Are these songs supposed to be “rock”?
A: ???
The individual from the original tweet was called “Rock God”, so I’m wondering if some of this stuff I’m picking would pass muster as “rock”, or even “songs”. Prolly some people reading this that wouldn’t even classify some of the stuff I pick as “music”. Uncultured swine the lot of you 😉
<Skinny Puppy – Two Time Grime>
Roob’s third song pick…
As I’m gonna have the final word on this post, choosing my third song is really easy; I’ve only listened to it, like, a squillion trillion times in my life. It has 4 digits only, five if you include Cade’s ‘gut’ feeling, above 😉 I give you Blondie’s ’11:59’…
<Blondie – 11:59 – Parallel Lines [1978]>
The final word by Roob…
*Hey, I thought I was having the final word, Clicky…*
And that, Dear Reader, is Cade and mine’s choices on day 2 of this 30 day challenge. Tomorrow will be ‘summertime’ songs, so do come back for that. And if you have a favourite song with a number in its title, please feel free to let us know via the comments section, below. We’d love to hear them 😀
Have a Song...
<Queen – Seven Seas Of Rhye (Official Lyric Video)>
The “po”…roughly translated in Americanese, might refer to “the poor”.
The “T”…roughly translates to a junction, also means some sciencey and other commercial stuff here and there.
The “able” could refer to the dude that was unable to sense his brother’s murderous intentions, but might also refer to “a bull” if you get extra stretchy wif it.
But in truth, it's none of those things
po T able = “Top Table” where the “T” is shared backwards and forwards.
Guess I coulda done “po TT able”, but why use two, when one will do.
What do you think I am? Some governmental stooge or something?
^Fazerdaze – Lucky Girl (Official Video)^
Teaching = Indoctrination
Guess it all depends on which classes you sign up for, the school(s) you choose, who your teachers wind up being, all kinds of neato and interesting variables. Maybe also wanna consider who got the ball rolling in a particular direction and what their intentions were. So, with that in mind…
what's your story?
What kind of ball are you? What kind of ball do you want to be?
Crystal?
Charity?
Royal?
Foot?
Volley?
Bowling?
Eye?
Canon?
Those of you who are of the basket variety of ball can make your basket case now.
^The Breeders – Cannonball^
Let’s go ahead and start with some definitions before I let the cat out of the bag and spoil all the synchonautical fun.
I open when I need to be open, I close when I need to be closed. Same as you. Course, I might be closed when you personally need me to be open. Sry. Come back during normal business hours. And don’t ask me when those are, because I don’t know.
^Amyl and the Sniffers – Got You (Official Video)^
Some people are likely interested in building the m pyre, just to watch it burn.
^Starfucker // STRFKR – Golden Light^
My broken headphones keep dying. Showing signs of the final and non-fixable death. If you fine fuckers at Sennheiser wanna send me a new pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro’s to replace this broke-assed pair where the wire somehow broke within the crossmount thingie that goes across the top of my noggin’?
Send 'em on...I'll use 'em
I really don’t want to have to find the internal break and try and solder the wire nor cut the wire where I think the break is, and try and replace the section with something else. Could result in total calamity. Looks like that’s where I’m headed tho.
😐
^The Distillers “Man Vs Magnet” (Official Music Video)^
On more than one occasion, I’ve seen reference to the term “top table”. Typically in documentaries of the British and/or UK varieties, almost always in reference to some kind of international politics, and I guess Britain’s place at this table with respect to certain interests. Getting there, staying there. Having a say in goings on. National pride. An implied national Jonesing for keeping up with the Joneses.
Yesterday, I was kinda absent my friend Roob’s presence for a while, and it turns out she was watching some Parliamentary goings on in the UK via her telly. Some vote happened, and there were some results. I guess Boris’ somewhat modified version of May’s plan was voted down, some general election in December was not approved, and there was reference to some kind of bill that was recently passed which I guess didn’t stipulate that Boris/the PM should actually accept any offers made by the EU, so it had to be clarified or amended or whatever.
Anyway, I guess the agreement was turned down, the request for a general election was turned down, and it looked as tho a “hard exit” would take place at some point on Thursday, unless of course that lurking “extension” was accepted. Which, later in the day, I guess it was. Now it’s just a matter of seeing what happens today, and whether or not a general election is held on 9 December.
Labor. Labor. Labor.
Why does that ring a bell? Prolly something to do with getting dinged and the subsequent pain(s).
“For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.”
That might produce a ping and pang of pain(s) here and there.
^Ride “Leave Them All Behind”^
No stranger to the concept of the top-table, I. Growing up, family functions where food was involved, the adults had their table, the kids had theirs. Usually the kids table was in a back room or outside on the patio. The kids just wanted to eat, but in looking back, I get the feeling that there was more on the menu than just/only food for the adults. They had grownup things to talk about, and likely had to do so in grownup language. Stuff of the not-so-nourishing varieties to young ears.
We kids eventually grew to understand what was going on in that other room. And although what was actually being discussed was typically beyond us, we could get a vibe on whether this something was good or bad just by listening to the tone(s). The vibration(s) or lack thereof. If it got loud, it was bad. And you had to take into consideration who was getting loud + who was responding to that loudness and how. If dad was getting loud, that was bad. Especially if someone was getting louder in response. Dad usually kept quiet at gatherings, and anyone who crossed him when he did speak?
Le yikes...
They were taking their life into their own hands. And when one or more of the women started to get rowdy? Holy shit, I wanted to pack my shit and leave town, because that meant things had gotten just about as bad as they could get. For a female member of the assembly to not only speak up, but to do so in a combative and/or authoritative way? The shit had definitely hit the fan over some something.
Who was his cousin. Good question? Or poor wording?
Who was his cousin?
Poor wording, bad punctuation, I really don’t know which is the case in this context, nor do I know who “was”, other than the obvious and/or potential. The more you read it (who was his cousin) the less succinct it becomes. Not sure as to any “degradation” tho. Some people have more bumps and bruises in life than others. Some choose the path of faith, some choose the path of belief, and yes, those seem quite different paths to me. Faith in self, faith in others. Doesn’t matter if the ring is brass or gold or cryogenically-cooled steel, I ain’t looking for it. Sure as shit found a ring or two along the way tho.
Also
Who also was his cousin.
Awl sew.
Ah, so.
Lhasa.
Seven…Year…Zen…Tibet.
Tibet…or…you bet?
Seven years of Zen sounds nice irrespective of where.
Even if the place is the pits.
Can I agree to something I don’t understand?
Weird...very weird
^The Muffs – Weird Boy Next Door (Official Music Video)^
Dunno if you’ll actually watch this next vid, but a minute into the start, there’s a single hotdog wiener that the girl didn’t touch. Hopefully her hands were clean and free of contamination. Contamination on the wiener can be cause for concern to some.
^13. Melvins – A History of Bad Men (Live in Norway, 2007)^
Is it any wonder that peeps used to have single names/self-identifiers? Much less clay to work with in the bastardization department. Some might even come up with a something in the naming and nomenclatures department that is more or less bullet-proof. Like say, not having one/any.
^Sonic Youth – Bull In The Heather (Official Video)^
Was doing some reading the other day on the topic of MC 900 Ft. Jesus, mainly because I used some of his shiz in a post, and came across a gem of an interview with Spike Jonez via the footnotes.
“My friend Lou and I were on a trip to Dallas for a skate tour,” Jonze recalls. “We were in the hotel room and we realized: MC 900 Ft. Jesus lives in Dallas. Let’s find him! We started looking up Mark Griffins in the phone book and we found a bunch of them and just started calling them. My friend would say, ‘Excuse me, sir, how tall are you?’ After three or four we got one who just started laughing, and we knew we had found him. This was a few years before we did the video, but we talked on the phone for 20 minutes. It was awesome.”
That’s pretty clever as far as cold-calling goes. Very specific. Very succinct. Looks like you chose the correct password combination for that particular passageway.
Well done
^Dead Kennedys – Holiday In Cambodia^
Eventually, the well is gonna quench your thirst, and you’re gonna try and turn off the tap. It’s possible that you may even think the well has run dry. Maybe it has.
/me shrugs
^Dope Lemon – Hey You^
The well has run dry before. Stands to reason it’ll happen again. But that first time the well ran dry? Sure it was dry for a spell, but then, it rained. It rained a lot. It rained. And rained, and rained, and rained.
Q: Does it matter from which direction a rain comes?
A: ?->¿<-?
Are rains that come in from the west, the same as rains that come in from the north, or the same as rains that come in from the south? I would say east but we don’t get rains from the east here. Well, not until recently we didn’t.
But I’m wondering about the contents of the water in the well. Like, aggregate. Summer rain(s), Spring rain(s), Winter rain(s), Fall rain(s)…they can’t all be the same. So is their logic in the moisture(s) that are brought to where and when/via what direction? Here, we have a lot of swimming pools. That means that a lot of peeps around here have spent a good deal of time stewing in water that has a high concentration of chlorine. You drink that shit too via the public water supply. Over time, what does that do to a gal or fella?
I’m mainly thinking about the aquifers in this area and the waters that feed them over time. What nutrients and minerals were brought in, and what nutrients and minerals leech from the local environment(s), plus what all that adds up to. The particulate in the atmosphere is changing, so moisture in the form of rain likely ain’t bringing the same stuff it used to. When you consider the direction the moisture may be coming from at a certain time of year, then you consider the nature of agriculture as it was then and is now, add in the industrial usages of waters from the river systems and other varied water sources, there’s a shift happening right under our noses that may be so obvious that we’re missing something else entirely. Or maybe not. Lots of eyes on waters everywhere. Just depends on who you are listening to/not listening to.
^Ocean grabbing — local fishing communities under threat? | DW Documentary^
Dear DW,
You make some pretty good documentaries on some pretty interesting subjects. However, the music is really getting out of hand. A smattering of music here and there is great. It adds without detracting, and is a great way of hearing some new music I may have never heard before. However, I challenge you to watch the following documentary, and I want you to keep track of how much time within the film is absent of either music or some kind of ridiculous and over the top foley/added sound effects. Along with the narration, it is my opinion that you as the viewer are given no time whatsoever to actually think, contemplate, and make decisions for yourself as to the goings on depicted in the film. Of course, maybe that’s the point: tell the viewer what to think and why, and give them no time to ponder or question.
Have fun counting the seconds in that film, and thanks for the docs irrespective of my personal grievances with respect to them.
Love,
cFa

Anger? I get.
Rage? I get.
Fury? I get.
Pride?
I don't get that at all
Sure, I’ve taken it out for a spin here and there, but I don’t understand the concept. It’s the one thing you’re supposed to have, except when you have it. Then it’s the one thing you aren’t supposed to have. I guess maybe “pride” is like a philosophical hot potato.
See a doctor and get rid of it
^The Hives – Hate to Say I Told You So^
Speaking of well and wells and being well and water(s) and such, Sophie, Sophia, Sewing and Sofas sure have been appearing on the radar a lot of the past few weeks.
Anyone got a line on what’s up with that sopping? Too much gravy and not enough bread? Too much bread and not enough gravy? We all have our crosses to bear. So the story goes.
^IDLES – MOTHER^
Ever heard of a PPE? I’ve mentioned what it is before, but think it deserves a revisit.
Can you imagine standing in line at a brick-and mortar store, the price was $7.99 when you picked your whatever up off the shelf, but the person behind you in line pays only $6.99 for the exact same item because the price was changed/lowered after you picked the thing up off the shelf? Bet you’re angry now, eh? What if the price went up tho. Would you then snicker at the person behind you and think, “wow, I’m getting a really great deal!”
Mortgages work like that
Whether you do or don’t pay thousands over the term of a loan could change in mere minutes. Kinda depends on when you commit and why. You wanted the best price, you got it.
Pony up
Of course, if you’d have waited another hour, you could have gotten an even better deal. But is this really that big of a shocker? You’re in this game. Part of it. One of the wheels that makes the machine go, and every single thing you do is gonna cascade in some way, shape or form. Maybe you weren’t aware of that. Maybe your mortgage loan, and your committing to it when you did, was the straw that broke the finance camel’s back and made rates drop even lower.
Looks almost…balanced. Gotta keep in mind tho, some resonances are quite destructive when they are “balanced”.
Just sayin'
^Fontaines D.C. – Boys In The Better Land (Darklands Version)^
You hear about that dude that got stuck upside down on the chimney and died? Sucks. I watched some documentaries sometime back on people in the UK that demolish old chimneys by hand. Makes sense. These things were put up by hand, so, why not bring them down by hand. Brick by brick, up they went. But when it’s time to come down? Some just want the fuckers gone, and fast. I guess that was Nobel’s whole point tho. Watt’s also. Lenor’s and Otto’s. And Whitney’s, Tesla’s and Edison’s too. Do the work of many with much less and/or little to none.
Comparatively
Where was I? Oh yeah, died with a hammer in his hand. For those interested in the more mystical and associative kinds of inference, I guess “the hanged man” and “the dead man” instantly spring to mind. However, what about the man?
Yeah, the person
Some dude, working a shitty and dangerous job, something goes wrong, story ends. For him it does. I’d bet he didn’t wake up yesterday morning and say, “Oh boy oh boy, I sure as shit hope something goes really fuckin’ awry today and I wind up a media sensation which causes the soothsayers and psychics to lose their everlovin’ minds.” Considering the goings on in Parliaments all over the world, some might interpret that poor dude’s death as something…
symbolic
Ironic, that here I sit, doing pretty much the very thing I’m damning. Trying my best not to read into any symbolism, although my mind is certainly awash in symbolism tho. But at the same time, thinking about this dude, his family, friends, the people that had to try and rescue him/eventually pull his body down…all kinds of people affected in all kinds of ways, all over the place, both directly and indirectly/less-directly.
^John Henry: One of America’s Warriors^
How does one talk about things? I don’t think there’s an answer. Not a correct one anyway. You talk about a something, or you don’t. Either way, might wanna prepare yourself for a smack on the snout irrespective of which choice you make.
You can read just about anything. Draw all kinds of stuff from that and those well(s), make all kinds of conjectures and reach all kinds of conclusions. Still, you have to walk the walk of your chosen path.
^Psychedelic Porn Crumpets – Found God in a Tomato^
Having a dream within a dream sounds like a cool concept. Until it actually happens anyway. How do you relate such an experience, and to whom do you relate it to? For what purpose(s)? If you had similar or same and wanna talk, sure. But to just spout the experience out to garner attention? Well, that kinda makes sense too on some levels.
Being alone is...scary
Anyway, if you wanna talk, sure, I’ll give it a go, but I personally have no agenda. Any agenda(s) you might have/bring to the discussion may be a shade…transparent. Maybe not specifics, but a dark spot is still a spot. Easy to spot. In the interest(s) of transparency, prolly best I’m upfront about that.
Bring the noise
^Grimes – We Appreciate Power (Lyric Video)^
Hang in there fellow humanoid type entities. Sunshine sucks without rain. Oh, and this whole “potable” and “top table” mess started off because I dropped by C Frank Davis’ place first thing this morning and read his latest post. Lots of weirdness going on over there in the UK both inside and out. I guess there are those looking to create a wave of dissent they can ride until that magical 2050 mark. Makes sense, but also doesn’t. 2050AD/CE is arbitrary as hell whilst riding on a planet that is supposedly 4.5 billion year old, and this same planet is swimming in a 13.8 billion year old sea. Delay, until established, then hold. Hold until relieved. That’s the only thing I can figure.
I’ll start this post with an example of synchronicity for you, Dear Reader. I’d just finished reading through the raw form of Cade Fon Apollyon’s latest missive…
*Heh. Perfect for shambles, Clicky…*
…below, before transferring it to here for formatting this morning, when I glanced at my emails and saw that a comment had been posted up in the Red universe of MEROVEE. At roughly the same time that I’d started reading the Okie Devil’s raw text…
*/lights up… Strange ‘ow that… /drags… ‘appens all the time, Clicky… /streams smoke… Plenny of angles in that first bit of wall art posted, too…*
To see the ‘sync’ for yourself, Dear Reader, you’re just gonna have to read on 😉 Enjoy!

I’m thinking about getting a tonsillectomy reversal.
Anyone got a line on where I can get this done?
^Deadmau5 – My Pet Coelacanth (1080p) || HD^
Reversals are big in medicine. Big in the medical industry. Two for the price of two. Maybe more.
Would a reversal be considered “anti”? Or would it be “anti-anti” seeing as how the original whatever that is now being reversed was the original “anti”.
Angels appear to be on the menu. Angelic music is on the menu anyway.
Let's eat

^Ministry – We Believe (video)^
The ancient Romans were pretty smart. According to legend, they did a lot of stuff. Lots of empire building, lots of infrastructure building. You know something else that the Romans were good at?
Graffiti
With that in mind, and because of a video that was shared with me the other day that I will not be sharing with you, lets us ponder what this infrastructure building and empire building may have entailed. Not the real buildings and the real roads that get you there, let’s think about the virtual ones. Ideas. Dreams. Perhaps we should start with the idealists and the dreamers. Wise men and scribes.
These were usually among the first people to be liquidated amongst a conquered people, and I would imagine this is because these were likely the people behind the former management. The idea men. Gotta get that entrenched management out of your new territory, and you gotta rip the old shit out by the roots if you want your own new seeds to take hold.
But what about those place where you just cannot seem to get the root(s)? You chop that tree down, pull out the stump, but the fucker keeps coming back and keeps coming back. You might need to get clever. After all, we aren’t talking about physical trees here, we’re talking about ideas and dreams. Maybe infiltrate and corrupt those ideas and dreams. Build your own idea(s) into the existing idea(s) in order to corrupt it/them. We’re talking about writing here. If you burn or otherwise destroy all the old works (parchments, books, tablets, etc.) and then get rid of all the old workers who won’t convert to your new model, but the old shit keeps coming back somehow? Bring in your own team.
Infiltrate. Divide and Conquer
^How To Destroy Angels – Ice Age (feat. Deadmau5) [Deadmau5 Remix] (1080p) || HD^
Eradication is damn near impossible in some cases. Matters of the heart and mind, spirit and soul?
Nightmares
So seeing as how the Romans were good at graffiti…
Q: Is it possible to add new text to an existing text in such a way that it is almost impossible to tell that what has been added is an invasive idea and/or invasive ideas?
A: ???
Most of what was written down in the ancient world is likely to have been A) law, B) historical accounts, or C) financial accounting(s). Yeah, there’s going to be scientific and creative stuff also, but almost all of what was written in the ancient world is going to likely be sanctioned, funded and overseen by some governing body. That means primarily documented power(s), stories of the exercising of that power, and stories about the wealth that was brought by the previous two things.
SO! You’ve got a nasty little province or two that irk the living shit out of you, and you decide that the best way to defeat these irritating fuckers is to bastardize the living shit out of their law(s) and/or religion(s). I mean, if you do it right, you could affect these fuckers for generations. Now you just need the right mole(s) to get in there and do some digging. You’re going to need to cover the range too. You’re gonna need to be overt, your gonna need to be covert, and you’re gonna need to be democratic as well. Patient, impatient, and forgiving. Gotta keep the opposition guessing. Confuse them. Not let them know that you are working every angle while keeping the same intent…destruction from within. In a few years, you could potentially have the entire population of this problem province believing that “only the holiest of the holy can wipe their asses with sandpaper and achieve cleanliness without damaging the flesh of thine ass.”
^Grease – Sandy (HD)^
I wonder how many words for “asses” and/or “ass” exist. Yeah, the contextual human ass.
Buttocks
Behind
Bottom
Glutenous Maximus
There are many considerations to be made. We are breaching the lines of cultural boundaries. Some smart ass out there might rub sandpaper all over their beast of burden. Might wind up looking like a jackass. Or some other asshat rubs sandpaper all over their entire buttocks. No real need for this asshole to do that…just rub the asshole and area immediately surrounding the asshole.
You getting all these hooks?
I sure hope so, I’m laying them on pretty fucking thick. Don’t need some jerk sandpapering the entire bathroom thinking it’ll help him become “holy”. Or sandpapering their Ass to death in the name of enlightenment.
^Nine Inch Nails – The Perfect Drug (Official Video)^
This shouldn’t be too much of a stretch. All kinds of weird and unusual laws on the books. But ya know, just because something is “legal” don’t make it right/correct. Also, just because something is legal doesn’t mean that I have to participate. So with respect to your intuition(s), what are they telling you? Not to mention, have you ever considered that maybe someone is doing a something thinking that it is the right way to be, but they’re actually just being played by some ancient practical joker?
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Hate can do weird things to people. Hate can sow some nasty seeds for some nasty long-term growths. So I ask again: where is your personal discernment? Can you tell right from wrong? Can you tell correct from incorrect?
You're basically pitting your own “natural law” will against “man's law” will(s)
Where has your knowledge of law(s) come from? What are you doing with this knowledge?
^Pretenders – Angel Of The Morning (Original Version)^
So, in winding this rant down, this video that I saw was focusing on nitpicking the Talmud. I find this ironic since the Talmud itself deals with nitpickery. Anyway, it got me to thinking that just because some law tells me that I can do a certain something, it doesn’t mean I have to participate. Of course, if the law demands that I do a certain something or behave a certain way?
Yeah, we may have a problem
The video was talking about assorted unsavory nonsense in the Talmud, and then wound up showing a video that is said to be of some Jewish Rabbi putting his mouth on a newborn’s freshly circumcised willy. It’s right there. Certainly appears to be accurate irrespective of the narration. But I have a few suggestions for whoever created this video.
#1
How about a warning in the video description that you are about to blind-side me with a short video clip of something that I may not want to see. Oh wait, you were too busy hawking your online “prepper” business in the description to waste time with such trivialities, and you’re also panhandling/e-begging for donations for your “equipment upgrades” to make more videos like this.
#2
How about a warning in the video itself that you are about to blind-side me with a short video clip of something that I may not want to see. You’re the one putting these things together. Granted, you appear to be wanting/needing some new upgraded equipment, but yeah, you can prolly slide a warning into the video prior to anything unsavory that might appear in your content. Courtesy: ever heard of it?
#3
Every dollar has a cost. Costs, even. Such thoughts might even get me the viewer to question which God you serve. Just sayin’.
#4
If Jesus is coming back and going to destroy the whole fucking place, why in the hell do I need survival gear and survival supplies and all that shit? To survive The Tribulation? Dude… Chick… whatever… death ain’t a thing during the Tribulation. It’s all suffering. You can have all the freeze dried strawberries in the world and it ain’t gonna help. It would appear there’s gonna be entities of all kinds roaming hither and yon, slapping hamburgers out of peoples’ hands and otherwise fucking with your shit, and doing all of this to remind and/or educate you as to who owns the place.
Yeah, the main reason I’m not linking you, the reader, to this video is because it’s inflammatory click-bait, and I’m not going to participate in the video’s further propagation. Says it’s click-bait right there in the title with their “WATCH NOW, THIS WILL GET PULLED DOWN” bullshit, but I watched for a friend, with a friend. Otherwise, no, prolly wouldn’t have watched it.

Just because the rope is in your hands, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re towing the line.
^Massive Attack – Angel^
I guess I myself could be accused of using racy images and/or controversial music. Controversial opinions on controversial topics. Might make one wonder what kind of standard(s) I employ. What I’m after? Why? Shit like that. Good questions all. I have no answers.
OH WAIT! I DO HAVE AN ANSWER IN THIS CASE!!!
I write about what I see. I share what I see as, when and where I saw it. So say, if I’m looking for geometry/geometric images, and I somehow and for some reason stumble onto an image of some woman digging in her butt? I may just share that image. Synchronicity is sometimes a pretty damn strange concept to ponder. A difficult language to interpret. Not always, but sometimes.
^Skinny Puppy – Process^
Oh, and speaking of manipulating others for your own gain...
That just appeared on my radar. Taking folks who don’t know no better, sowing seeds of discontent, feeding on desires to make things right/seek right, and profiting from the whole mess.
Sounds...a familiar concept
Dunno where I’ve heard similar recently, but almost sure that I have. Lots of angles. Lots to think about.
^David Bowie “The Heart’s Filthy Lesson”^

That leaves only...body
No wonder that abuse and torture are pretty much the only tool in the human-leverage toolbox. The body you can get to. The other ones? Not so much.
^Foetus – Into The Light^
Meh, I was only two pages in, and I completely lost interest in this one. Did eventually cover some ground(s) tho.
X: You gonna leave me out forever?
Cade: No, that’s not my intention.
X: You aren’t listening.
Cade: Dunno if that’s entirely correct.
0: You as a the individual that you are just cannot approach a pile of shit without stopping and considering what it would be to step in it, can you?
Cade: Dunno if that’s entirely correct either.
X: You’re lost.
Cade: Ya’ll are batting 1000%.
X: Any idea as to which is correct, and which is incorrect?
Cade: So, if I’m understanding correctly, this is not about being correct/incorrect at all.
T: What do you think it’s about smart guy?
Cade: Speed.
Z: Speed? Or frequency.
Cade: You’ve lost me there.
Z: How many times do you have to be told to do something, before you actually do it?
Cade: That’s a good question. Have you given any consideration as to why I may not be doing a certain something?
B: Rebellion.
Cade: Sorry for having to paint you into a corner B, but as I’m thinking about it now, that speed and frequency bit is a tough one to chew on whilst considering the “request & compliance” model that is forming in my head.
X: You’re riding a wave?
Cade: Yes.
X: But you aren’t moving.
Cade: Correct. A sine wave.
C: Wave after wave of sine waves, and you are stationary….motionless.
Cade: Correct.
0: Would a saw-wave be a better model maybe?
Cade: I don’t think it matters. I think what we are discussing here is the point at which one “intercepts” the wave.
Z: A mark.
Cade: Correct.
Z: Acknowledgement.
Cade: Correct.
Z: Compliance.
Cade: Also correct, but that’s a whole ‘nother ball of wax now ain’t it?
0: Have you ever noticed that your vernacular changes whenever you wander off into the more subjective realms?
Cade: Welp, makes sense…don’t it?
B: How so?
Cade: Just because I accept a task or mission or whatever, doesn’t mean that task is gonna get carried out.
X: Customer satisfaction.
Cade: Exactly. Shit isn’t gonna get better just because I take the job on.
A: So, by avoiding the message, and by avoiding this task, things don’t get worse?
Cade: Oh for fuck’s sake 0. If you’re gonna hide behind “A’s” persona, at least try and act like her.
0: I don’t follow.
Cade: But I should?
Z: Booya.
A: What if I asked him to ask as me?
Cade: I don’t think any of this really addresses the random and somewhat bizarre nature of…of…of…
U: Less than standard communication(s)?
Cade: Now who in the fucking fuck is this fuck?
U: I’ll give you a hint.
Cade: Lemme guess…”U”? ”Not You?” Like, not me you, but you?
U: Not.
Cade: Hi.
X: Speed. Lets get back to it. This is running a little long.
Cade: You shouldn’t react to everything.
X: All of that, just to say, “you shouldn’t react to everything”?
Cade: Non-reaction is still a reaction.
0: Just less proactive.
Cade: Less reactive maybe. I dunno what “proactive” would even mean in this context.
Z: What about in the case of omens?
Cade: That’s actually a really good question. Any precursor, that you eventually act on, would in fact be proactive.
T: We gotta sometimes twist these things to get you to think.
Cade: It’s an interesting thought. The message arrives in 1986 that something really bad is gonna happen in 2011, you sit on this information until 2010, act on it…
X: And it appears that you were being proactive.
Cade: Correct. But I really wasn’t.
A: How so?
Cade: The event had already happened.
0: Wait, wait, wait just a minute there sparky. What do you mean “the event already happened”?
Cade: The event had already happened, otherwise, I would not have been able to see it.
0: But you eventually prevented it?
Cade: A mindfuck ain’t it? In order to prevent something, it has to happen.
Z: The basis for a more solid engineering.
Cade: Certainly gets one to thinking about the nature of “preventative anything”.
X: It happened, it never happened.
Cade: Almost like 3-point parking. Forward, back, forwards.
Z: Onwards and upwards.
Cade: So yeah, speed and accuracy. Just because I’m getting “synchy” messages doesn’t mean I need to shit my pants.
0: Shit your pants..do a dance…we’ll sign you up for the Ringling Brothers.
Cade: It’s a circus. Can be anyway.
X: And what about this business with the points?
Cade: OH! Yeah, um, scanning the bands. It just occurred to me that instead of looking for a complete message on a single band, maybe a message was sent in parts over multiple bands.
X: And that completes the “synchronistic communications model”?
Cade: You sure are asking a lot of questions today.
U: Answer the damn question.
Cade: It might complete a message. I dunno about it completing any model.
X: Complete the model for “a” message.
Cade: Maybe. I’ve no idea. It could get messy.
X: Anything spring to mind?
Cade: Well, now that I think about it, that Bible cross-reference image that Jordan Peterson used in some of his talks could shed some light.
T: You’re thinking non-sequential and less-sequential.
Cade: Correct. And now that I think about it, the whole damn thing could eventually collapse.
Z: Only if someone isn’t on their toes.
Cade: I just pictured the whole damn thing folding.
X: Don’t you think there might be other information to follow when and as the original message is erased?
Cade: Sure, it’s possible. But if we really are untangling certain knots…
0: The whole rope could vanish.
Cade: That’s…what I’m seeing.
0: Voids.
Cade: There’s still data there in the/a void. Its all in how we interpret it. What jarred me just then was watching the information that only previously occupied that void disappearing.
X: A big crunch.
Cade: Again, I don’t know. I just know that the more of the points in the arcs disappeared, the more the message made less sense.
X: The more…the message…made less sense. Less is more?
Cade: So it would seem.
X: …
Roob just told me via DM that there’s some new “Brexit Deal” on the table, but I really have no interest at this particular moment. Pygostyle…what an interesting concept. You can stick a fork in this turkey…

^Premiere: Marco Strous – That’s My Jam [Cr2 Records]^
Almost forgot to mention, dropped by Psycho Radio the other night. Not done that in a while. The Gang was mostly all there. I put the headphones on, laid down, listened for a few hours, but eventually fell asleep. That’s not a cut on the conversation that was transpiring, I just fell asleep. They do talk about some weird shit tho. Do it in some weird ways too.
Before I start this here Brexit shambles, Dear Reader, I’d just like to point out that there is still time to submit a short story for the Halloween Underdog Anthology, if you are of a creative writing bent. To date, 7 authors have supplied tales for the book, but I’m sure Leggy would like to get the author count up to 9 if possible, to sync with the number of the volume in the series…
*Ooh that’s apt, Clicky… /lights up… My first story’s about misadventures in trepanation… /drags… I’m still working on the second…*
*Yep… /streams smoke… It’s a ‘Harry’ story, Clicky, and the first half of a two parter… /smokes… The second story will be in the Christmas Anthology. Touch wood…*

Dear Reader, it seems we have a Zombie Parliament in session, here, in the UK. It appears that Remainer MPs – a.k.a. ‘The Far Wrong’ – in their crazed desperation to prevent us from leaving the Eewww!, are prepared to go to any lengths…

*Good grief, there’s full Moon, too, Clicky? …/bites lip… There’ll be lunatics abroad tonight…*
As promised in yesterday’s missive, Dear Reader, Cade has very kindly whizzed across the 137th installment of his wonder ramblings for your pleasure. I also mentioned yesterday that today, Friday 13th of September, has a connection with 137. Well, two actually…
…Raphael at that site has been thinking deeply and alternatively about ‘137’ for the longest time, and has amassed a 137 treasure trove. Yesterday he published a splendid post, the first in ages. 37 is the 12th Prime and today, of course, is the 37th Friday of 2019…
*Yeah, yeah, and 37 is also the atomic number of ROOB ID, I AM… /smokes… It ain’t about me, Clicky…*
… That’s why I am delighted to be able to present the Text US Okie Devil’s 137th missive for the LoL of it today, Dear Reader…
Enjoy! ❤

Didn’t get the job – got the rejection email earlier. No big deal really – been turned down and/or ignored for prolly a thousand jobs over the past few years. But this one I was qualified for somewhat, and, I aced the typing test. 40 wpm average with a 98.5% accuracy on a 5 minute typing test ain’t that bad, especially for someone who typically doesn’t type by sight. In fact, I never type by sight. Like read something, and type it at the same time. I’m quite impressed with my typing test result. That’s no mean feat.
SO! What’s up over in Merovee land, eh? Was not my intent to kick a hornet’s nest. Just trying to understand what’s being said. Cade is not known for being the sharpest knife in the drawer, and it’s kinda nice to know where he stands.
^Front 242 – Rhythm of Time (Victor the Cleaner)^
From a learning standpoint, how did I just refer to myself? Would that be considered 2nd person? 4th person? Did some reading, and everything on this seems to center around pronouns, but I referred to myself by name.
I guess in order to refer to yourself in the 4th person, you need both 1st and 3rd person. Wait…didn’t I do that? I used both “Cade” and “he”.
^Jump – Funkatarium^
How long until Trump spins his anti-e-cig/fake news crap as a trap. That’s what I’m wondering. Like, some kind of double-cross to “expose” fake news sources…
maybe?
Was reading Leg Iron’s latest post, and it really got me to thinking that PT will likely spin it. He’ll have to, assuming the “fake news” angle actually sticks. Where in the fuck did this vaping legislation even come from? Talk about coming from left-field, I woulda been less shocked if to hear that the President was introducing legislation that limited the number of toilet paper sheets citizens could use when wiping their butts. Not to mention, the limited reading that I’ve done is indicative that this is a regional problem. Meaning, the state in question should deal with it, not the Federal government. Something else is going on here, and I don’t think it has anything to do with THC, black market products or even vaping.
^Front 242 – Happiness (Dance Mix By Underworld)^
Kind of a holdover thought from the previous missive, but have you ever been somewhat submerged in water, had something float up next to you, you tried to push it away, and it winds up floating even closer to you? Or you try and pick it up from underneath the water, but it runs away from your hand? Or you try and distance your entire body from it, but it follows you? That’s kinda what I was thinking with respect to a body moving through a space, how to identify other bodies, and how to know how to react to those bodies without becoming unnecessarily entangled with those bodies because of your actions. I was thinking more about inorganic kinds of things, but these concepts aren’t much different in a lot of cases than dealing with organics. Like swatting at a wasp is likely to just irritate the fuck out of it. Same could be said of a leaf in a pool of water.
Less-destructive/non-destructive travel
That’s what I’m thinking of. To relate, the reason that supersonic travel is out, is because it’s destructive as hell. Commercial passenger parabolic space travel isn’t going to be much better. To relate even further, I just looked up some figures for SpaceX’s Falcon rockets.
For Falcon 9: 156.1 ± 4.9 dB (unweighted) at 125 ft.
For Falcon Heavy: 160.9 ± 4.9 dB (unweighted) at 125 ft.
Now, to put that in perspective. Like, those numbers… they need some perspective. Wanna come along?
It's gonna get loud
^Finitribe ‘We Have Come’^
As you can see, @ 156.1 and 160.9 decibels, the Falcon 9 and Falcon 9 Heavy rockets are hip deep in the intolerable pool. I think a shotgun blast is around 140 decibels, most commercial aircraft are around 130 decibels, and anything around those numbers and above is where the pain thresholds lay. So if we’re gonna have commercial parabolic space travel carting your tubby ass from Dallas to London in 30 minutes, let’s see what the locals are going to have to deal with.
‘DallasFort Worth (DFW) International Airport is the world’s fourth busiest airport, offering nearly 1850 flightsper day and serving 64 million passengersa year.’
Source = Google – 12 September 2019 @16:22
Now, at 1,850 flights per day for a single airport (D/FW), we kinda need to know what the average passenger load for commercial aircraft is.
Those numbers look reasonable to me, and it’s something we really need to consider seeing as how, currently, rockets can’t even carry a single person, let alone hundreds. But to be fair, parabolic space flight is likely not the smartest of options for someone traveling from Dallas to Austin or even Dallas to New York. It’s unlikely that 1,850 rockets are going to be blasting off from D/FW each day, so let’s get a bead on the number of international flights that leave from the Metroplex.
‘Overall, DFW Airport has service to 223 destinations, including 56 international and 167 destinations within the United States. Fifteen of the 27 passenger airlines that serve DFW are foreign-flagged, and 12 are domestic.’
Source = Google – 12 September 2019 @ 16:27
That doesn’t tell us much, but some further reading implies that there are 30 flights per week from D/FW to London area airports, which means an average of 4.2 flights per day.
Q: Could we handle 4 rocket launches per day in this area?
A: ???
No idea, and that’s only the London service. Glass sales are going to go through the fucking roof.
^Skinny Puppy – Tin Omen^
What is the cost effectiveness of devising a system for aircraft that could avoid a bird? What about a system that could avoid an insect? Is that overkill? Altering the course of a 200/300 ton jet just to avoid a mosquito? Especially a mosquito.
Those things suck
^A Split Second – Flesh (Full 12″ Version) (Official video)^
Maybe there’s a balance in the quanta that we are missing. Some something in the ether that knows when and where we are being sloppy as fuck, and maybe where we need to improve in certain areas in order to advance in other areas. Like say… oh, I dunno… maybe in order to increase a certain medical treatment from 30.6% effectiveness to 45.9% effectiveness, all it takes is a reduction of 5% in the number of plants killed by herbicides. That energy has to come from somewhere right? It’s gotta go somewhere too, and there has to be some kind of sustainable something to get it there.
^symphonix – everything you want^
How much of a reduction in life you figure it takes before there’s an implication that life is no longer needed and/or no longer wanted here on our planet. You think it possible that there are solar/galactic/universal audit trails? If so, prolly going to be a lot more audit trails nested in there. Almost like Synthetic CDO’s that are based upon and travel from to and through some base structures. Damn, that sounds like a logistical nightmare. Boy…I sure hope there are some folks thinking in streams like these. Our administration costs could skyrocket if we aren’t somewhat prepared for administratives like that.
I know a guy who is looking for work. He’s OK with heights and types @ 40 wpm.

I had to sort through missives 001 through 081 to find that formatting. Dunno why I thought there was more to it than that. Oh well, was kinda fun to scan some of the older writings. I’ve discovered that I am somewhat…wordy.
Me either. Damn interesting tho. Sounds like Van Deusen and Beard were at odds as to exactly what the root cause of this condition was, but it seems they were in agreement that it was related to some kind of detachment or dissociative something. REALLY interesting that it was associated with “anyone who lives within the monetary system” and also a “culture-bound syndrome”. No fucking wonder the condition has been deprecated, redacted and/or relegated to the footnotes. Can’t have people thinking that society and/or monetary systems can make you sick. This was all going on in the big fucking middle of the Industrial Revolution too. Ya think maybe people were lamenting days gone by? Developing a hate for the future via a really fucking nasty and confusing present?
First Trump appears to kowtow to fake news, and not a day later, Google is changing their algorithm to give precedence to “whoever gets there first”? Are you really trying to tell me that news reporting agencies and media groups aren’t completely inundated with moles and informers who get paid to steal stories/information prior to publication so the competition can scoop them? Not only that, did Google really just throw it’s hat into the peer-reviewed and/or authentication/validation ring? Whoever appears first in the results is authentic/genuine?
Fuckin-a…and I thought I was an idiot for spending my days pondering time-travel and teleportation. You guys are fucking morons. Of course, thinking about it now, there is a flip side. Anyone engaging in journalistic thievery are going to somewhat expose themselves by rushing to print and trying to beat everyone else to publication so that Google will boost them in the rankings. It’ll take some time for all that to shake out tho. Could be a lot of heads roll. I take my earlier thoughts back Google. Well played.
(maybe)
^Nothing in the Sun – Ceremony^
Thinking about that now, there is another downside tho. This could potentially give basically “data monopolies” to certain publishers. I write about all kinds of stuff that I hear in “the news”. Am I no longer allowed to write about it? This kinda smacks of broadcast news back in the 1970s and maybe 1980s. You get the story, or you don’t. If you beat the competition to a story? They may not bother reporting on the story at all.
But yeah, I’m wondering as to what exactly will constitute “originality” within the scope of specific events. Not only that, but how are you going to handle those common courtesy types of references. Like, where USA Today will start off a story with “The New York Times is reporting that…”? Especially when the story devolves to “But CNN has reported that…”.
How you gonna handle shit like that?
In cases like that, the story has become the story itself and the stories themselves, and an entirely new story has emerged as a result of the original reporting on…whatever in the fuck they’re reporting on. Anyway, I would think a purveyor of information (Google) is not going to be able to retain your illusory image of non-bias with a change like this. May as well go ahead an clutter up the empty space on that main Google page with paid advertisements and other bullshit. The cloak of your plain-covered wrapper advertising an unbiased Google is completely blown.
^Belouis Some – Imagination (Official Video) (HD)^
Maybe someone is simply missing their monopolies?
Seeking that olden fyre of yore.
Thing is…was that monopoly ever yours?
Or did you just read about it.

K…I’m back. I was washing my hands seeing as how I touched my small and filthy penis, and made the mistake of looking in the mirror whilst I swashed my mitts. As I looked at myself, I got to wondering if there are some better glasses frames out there for me. Maybe these black horn-rimmed glasses aren’t the best for a face like mine.
A face like mine
What kind of eyewear would best compliment a face like mine. The only thing that I could come up with that might better compliment my face, is a welding mask. I wonder if they make those welding masks with a prescription-strength glass.
^The Cure – Lullaby (Official Music Video)^
Impossible. Teleportation is impossible. The complete disassembly and reassembly of a lifeform is impossible. There’s no precedent…there are no precedents. There are no models…there’s nothing but science fiction and fantasy.
I agree with you on all counts
On all counts, I agree with you wholeheartedly.
^Billy Idol- Flesh for Fantasy (lyric video)^
Sometimes, there just isn’t enough to talk about in order to accommodate all the images I stumble across. I am wondering how your week was.
Yeah...you
How the fuck are you? All of this bullshit is pointless without you, and I have a concern for your well-being. Kind of a passive concern, also a clueless concern, but a concern nonetheless. Been watching a lot of compilation videos lately of road ragers, and you are likely out in that mess day after day. Gotta be rough. Seems like the slightest of things will set someone off, and mistakes on the roadways are strictly taboo. No margins for error. No margins at all based on what I’ve been seeing. I wonder if there are people who get in their cars or on the motorcycles or whatever, and get out on the roadways for the specific purpose of finding someone to get pissed off at.
May wanna keep an eye out for pricks like that
^Lords Of Acid – Take Control^
Speaking of these videos that I’ve been watching, some of the “UK Road Rage” videos are pretty funny, some are downright depressing, but there seems to be an overall theme as to establishing who is right/wrong in a given situation. Like, actively pursuing justice in real time. No court, no judge, no jury, no law…have this out, right fucking here, right fucking now.
This isn’t endemic to just and only the UK, but on watching these videos, I woulda assumed that British drivers would be a tad more friendly, and MUCH more forgiving than drivers in America. Small roads, narrow roads, close quarters, lots of twists and turns, lots of intercepts and crossings, few lanes, and MANY more types of vehicles operating in the same environment, not mention lots of pedestrians. Seems like you’d almost have to be a friendly and forgiving person to survive in such an environment.
That appears to not be the case. What really stands out tho? The curses. I’ve watched enough of these vids now to kinda get the feeling that the first word(s) out of a driver’s mouth on the video is indicative of where that person is from.

Upon watching vid after vid, trends began to appear. I could only assume that people from a certain area have more of a propensity to respond a certain way, or call someone a certain something, based on the regional dialect. “Bellend” was the one that kinda got me to thinking, as it appeared that maybe people in the northern regions were more apt to use this word first. Not that I am an expert in British accents, but I do try and keep my ears open/be mindful of them. Was also kinda surprised that the use of “bollocks” is rare in these vids. Did hear it a few times tho. Anyway, just thought that language thing was kinda interesting.

Oooooh!!!! I fucking LIKEthat one. Wanna see what it looks like at a faster speed? Me too, but I’m not gonna add it here. You wanna speed it up yourself? Right click the link, copy image address, go here, paste the link address in the box, upload the image, and tinker with the speeds to your heart’s content. I’m gonna warn you in advance tho, that one does not speed up well. Speed seemed to cap for me at about 1000%. I’m sure an image with less frames would do better, and at 120 frames total, that image is a shade beefy.

This post is now about…images.
Anyone have any interest in…images?

Which reminds me, anyone else notice all the “asteroid” and “asteroid close approach” news lately? It’s been almost daily for several weeks now. Is someone trying to tell us in a roundabout way that some new NEO tracking system has come online and it’s now not only being used, but being used to great effect? If so, I can only imagine how much bad news is ahead, and not just and only the operating costs. Guess I could search for press releases regarding any new tracking systems, but it just seems weird that some new asteroid is in the news almost every goddamn day.
Weird things are strange

Is it just me? Or do we have a discrepancy between this and this?
Thought maybe I’d be clever and see if there was a song named 137, or maybe a song centered around 137, but found those tones instead. Listened to the first to see how clear it was, then checked the second to see how clear it was, and immediately noticed there was a discrepancy between the two. Wanna see how bad it is? Do this:
Open the first video in one tab, pause it, then open the second video in a second tab and pause it as well.
Once you have both vids open, start playing the first vid, pop over to the other tab and start playing the second vid.
You should hear some oscillation with both vids playing at the same time.
If you wanna play further, open that second link in a tab, then open this in another tab. You’ll get a similar oscillation, but it’ll be different because one is a sine wave, and the other is a square wave, whereas the first two were both sine waves.
