Knole House is interesting in that it is considered to be a sort of ‘Calendar House’ – 365 rooms, 52 staircases, 12 entrances and seven courtyards. It would be fair to say that observation wouldn’t have meant anything at all to me back in 2013, when crafting the original shambles…
