1. ‘Macron with a diabolical face: the explanation is simple. In 2021, Daniel Buren installed on the winter garden’s glass roof at the Élysée Palace a temporary work of art meant to stay in place until February 2022, which was never taken down. Some disrespectful pigeons thought it wise to drop their droppings on this marvelous piece, without the slightest concern for the consequences. A ray of sunlight crossed the panes at the wrong moment, casting the shadow of the droppings onto the presidential face. Nothing paranormal, then, but a moral: you always have to dismantle temporary works of art*! (*With the exception of the Eiffel Tower)’
