Yes, Dear Reader, The Underdog Anthology is well on nigh…
*I am not a princess, Clicky! …/looks aghast… *
*/sniff… Sandwich Queen, maybe… Now stop interrupting me…*
Anyway, as I was saying, Dear Reader, The Underdog Anthology will be published very soon…
*No, Clicky, my pen name’s Roo B. Doo… sounds like RooBeeDoo…*
*Yeah well I’m rather more fond of a shamble than Tiff… /shoos away assistant… Now, stop butting in…*
Leggy, the Underdog, is keen not to make the cover too attractive to children. Personally, I think the little buggers could do with reading the superbly written horror, sex and violence that unfolds inside…
*/Squints… It’s his pub, Clicky… Leggy’s the gaffer and I fully respect that… Now fuck off for a minute, I want to put the poem in…*
As an ‘Afterword’ in his other short story collections, a literary giant is giving a kicking – Lewis Carroll in ‘Dark Thoughts and Demons‘, and Edgar Allan Poe in ‘Fears of the Old and New‘. For The Underdog Anthology, Leggy enticed me into a bit of vandalism…
*Oh yeah… Anyone that knows me, noses there was only one giant, I’d take on, Clicky…*
“Have a heart” an anthology of dark prose >> “Heart of Darkness” parallels with places of darkness >> time for an apocalypse? Now about to open doors to the subconscious …

I cannot add anything intelligent here. Nor anywhere else for that matter. But I digress.
I thank you for the inspiration Roob, and I think you know of which I speak. I never would have drawn that picture, nor come to those conclusions had you not posted that link to…

I admit that there is a bunch of shit that I left out, and ever more stuff that I saw after drawing it. But I guess I’ll post that over there so as not to blog up your blog with my bullshit.
I bow to you madam. ❤

This diagram, Cade…
You haven’t read ‘Cultish’ yet, but that so reminds me of a pivotal scene in Hugo’s novel (soon to be published by Leg Iron Books).

That’s the one. Nothing more than a rework of the one I posted above it over there…which is below over here…weird eh?

Yeah, I think I see quite a bit more in there, but I’m…erm…scared. Sorry. /me shrugs
Must think.

Sadly, books don’t need a soundtrack. But if they did, Carlsberg wouldn’t beat this …..
“Insomnia”
Deep in the bosom of the gentle night
Is when I search for the light
Pick up my pen and start to write
I struggle, fight dark forces
In the clear moon light
Without fear… insomnia
I can’t get no sleep
I used to worry, thought I was goin’ mad in a hurry
Gettin’ stress, makin’ excess mess in darkness
No electricity, something’s all over me, greasy
Insomnia please release me and let me dream of
Makin’ mad love to my girl on the heath
Tearin’ off tights with my teeth
But there’s no release, no peace
I toss and turn without cease
Like a curse, open my eyes and rise like yeast
At least a couple of weeks
Since I last slept, kept takin’ sleepers
But now I keep myself pepped
Deeper still, that night I write by candle light
I find insight, fundamental movement, uh
So when it’s back this insomniac take an original tack
Keep the beast in my nature under ceaseless attack
I gets no sleep
I can’t get no sleep
I can’t get no sleep
I can’t get no sleep
I need to sleep, although I get no sleep
I need to sleep, although I get no sleep

😀 Thanks for that, JP. You’re right, that’s pretty good…
*That’s what you get taking the red pill and the blue pill, Clicky… Although, I don’t remember either of them being offered to me…*

I personally like the back cover as is…and have commented as such over there at UBU.
The text…as is…it certainly grabbed me. And I know pretty much fuckall about the book. /me shrugs

OH, and for the record…this is a book of short stories correct?
Q: Who the fuck reads a book of short stories cover to cover?
A: ???
I don’t. That’s the great thing about collections of short stories…you can bounce around.
I thought that one bit was quite succinct. /me shrugs…again…go figure.

I think this book of short stories is a perfect accessory for any bathroom, and I don’t mean as a means to wipe botties, although it is made of paper so it could, I suppose, in a pinch, but that’s a terribly expensive way of buying toilet paper. No, there are one page stories in it, 3 pagers, 7 pagers… you get my drift – there’s plenty of selection for potential sitting durations, including cover-to-cover should the need arise 😉

I like the back cover, too. Plus it highlights nine…

*No! That was note to self, Clicky… /rolls eyes…. For gawd’s sake…*
