Sew… I have just finished watching episode one of season three of The Sopranos, Dear Reader. It was interesting in that it was mostly from the point of view of a crack FBI team surveilling the eponymous family, in order to place a listening device, concealed within a lamp, in the basement of their abode… 

*It was at this point in the show, Clicky, that I realised how hungry I was, having slept late and missed lunch…*

I temporarily suspended my Soprano binge and went in search of something to eat. Unexpectedly, I spied a twin pack of chocolatey Hobnobs languishing conveniently on the shelf above the full – I checked – kettle. These were not my biscuits but Thoughtful Man’s, for his secret stash of goodies, but there they were, packaging pristine, calling to me. I don’t really like Hobnobs that much (too oaty) but I was really rather peckish. I asked Thoughtful Man, who wasn’t happy but reluctantly agreed that I could have some. I must say, a recent LoL post sprang to mind upon immediately noticing the Hobnobs. It’s one of Clicky’s collage attempts, telling a story of aliens and signals. I thought about his post whilst the kettle boiled…

*I have wondered, Clicky, if Clif High’s future forecasting through language model differentiated adequately enough between the two uses of ‘alien’, especially as the US use ‘illegal alien’, whereas we say ‘illegal immigrant’ when it comes to the recent non-extra-terrestrial invasion of our countries…*

Back in my library with a negotiated half packet of Hobnobs and a steaming cup of coffee, I thought I’d take a quick peek at X before resuming my Soprano binge, and right at the top of my read-only feed was the man himself, Tony Soprano with head in hands, illustrating a news story currently gripping the UK…
