  1. I’m guessing there are smarter minds than mine who are currently working on the particulars as to what “X” will signify with respect to what courtesies will/will not be extended based upon such a distinction being present in a passport? What rights and privileges are implied? Required? According to/by whom? Wondering how far a country is willing to extend its own reach of power in order to protect a citizen based solely upon a particular trait or feature.

    We are talking passports here.

Granted this was a war zone, but I’m thinking kinda along those lines with respect to when a country might decide to act in a particular way or take a particular path based primarily or even solely upon a specific aspect or dynamic.

Honestly my biggest concern is that this is yet another box that someone can force another into, where the nomenclature may not actually apply. Or maybe where the individual prefers not to disclose certain information, but are required to.

But mostly my concern is a piece of data which exists in an official document which may actually single out a someone for some kind of oppressive behavior in various theatres/at various times irrespective of the data’s accuracy/applicability.

Maybe I’m just being paranoid. /shrug
