Schrödinger’s Fox… Sorta

*Doo you, Clicky?*

*Blimey… /lights up… Was that only a year ago?*

*/drags… Agreed… /plumes smoke… Butt it has been a strangely long year…*

Happy Boxing Day, Dear Reader 😀 I’ve been thinking about synchronicity’s use as a language, specifically on the internet. A type of sign language, if you will. A medium for communicating intended and unintended messages via meaningful coincidence…

*A caduceus is the symbol of logistics, Clicky… /furrows brow… I wonder if they meant that… /gnaws bottom lip… Trumps logistics/medicine gift republic?  …/squints… From a novelty store in London?*

*/thinks… I live in SoS… /flicks ash… how interesting…*

… The problem comes with the word meaningful – it’s subjective which means it’s personal; what’s meaningful to me, Dear Reader, very well may not, and probably won’t be, meaningful to you. Unless, of course, you could somehow read my mind…

… but even then, it would be tricky…

… Communicating through synchronicity on the internet is more about connecting and sharing ideas via meaningful coincidence…

*That’s kinda rigid, Clicky, and adversarial… /deep drag… It’s much more fluid than that…*

*Whoa, Trump was 94th in 2012? …/snorts smoke… Road kill?*

*Where’s Kim? Oh no… /smirks…*

…Goodness knows there’s all kinds of filters, layers and capacity to consider in the transmission or receiving of thought, knowledge, experience, ideas, meaning

*/stubs butt…*

*/shrugs… The next few weeks are gonna be damned interesting, that’s for sure…*

As always, comments are open below, Dear Reader, should you feel inclined to leave any. Enjoy the rest of the Christmas break and have a Song…

*Wait, wait, wait, Clicky. We forgot to reference Schrödinger… /lights up and smokes…*

    Just my opinion, but this can make synchronicity just that much scarier and/or disconcerting, Not only is weird shit happening, but weird shit is happening and you can’t really relate the specific event(s) to others. Sure, you can explain that you are experiencing synchronicities, and some people will be able to relate to that. But the specifics? Nah. I can relate to “the” experience, but not “your:” experience, It’s almost like a cipher within a cipher, and only you have the unique key? /shrug

    Fucked if I know. ;-P

      1. And if you think about synchronicity in terms of something like Good Omens/Sergeant Shadwell’s naming dilemma with respect to the Witchfinder Army? Sometimes the imagination just runs out of steam and you take whatever is handy. This can lead to some damn weird “syncs” down the road.

        Thinking here in terms of “embedding signatures” in certain things to verify authorship or authenticity or whatever, and how that can sometimes get sideways. (or even misunderstood)

  2. I can’t wrap my mind around this one.
    That is repulsive and I’m glad I didn’t hear about that story but I just now heard about it and its particularly gruesome. Something about the casual delivery of “just killed a fox with a baseball bat”. I don’t know what I would do in the situation but I know I couldn’t club a fox to death. Actually, if something was attacking my son, I would do anything necessary to stop it.
    Again, these weird stories make you think and I know this isn’t the point of your blog post, but somehow a gun becomes more humane after reading about Jolyon Maugham, who ironically sounds like an ultra liberal. . If you are defending the livestock from natural “predators”, then fucking be prepared with a swift maneuver. Right?
    This is what is so bizarre: at the same time I am reading your blog, my sonshine comes in and playfully taps me with a plastic, inflatable club from a game he got for Christmas called Poetry for Neandertals.

    Everything does happen at once. The foxing day massacre happened a year ago. But if I just read about it, and I have a certain emotion about it, it doesn’t matter. I am now thinking that person is an idiot and all kinds of feelings happen. Just as the ‘right now’ when my sonshine is “beating” me with the harmless plastic club.

    there’s always a timer. (under pressure, like a pressure cooker, or a BOMB). But everything happens at once!

    This video is from 2013, but at 1:16, they mention Beruit, with a very similar image to the building that was shown over and over, after the Beruit blast of 2020.

    Historically and historic buildings. The languish is exposed. That is why the caduceus is a marker for “health”, as an ultimate control. Snakes on the staff.

    The behaviour of snakes and their facial features (e.g. the unblinking, lidless eyes) seemed to imply that they were intelligent, that they lived by reason and not instinct, and yet their thought-processes were as alien to humans as their ways of movement. (wikipedia)

    1. Did you read my follow up story to ‘What Time Do You Finish?’

      ‘Elf’ is ‘eleven’ in German… Nein eleven… Nine elf…

      “Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
      Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
      Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
      One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
      In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
      One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
      One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
      In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”

  3. It’s just a little floof!

    A few years ago, I was taking Charlie to school and this red fox family ran in front of us, a momma and 3 floofy fox pups. They were delightful and so unexpected.

    I don’t see foxes everyday, so when you see that, you never forget. How does that “sync in” with the dude who beat the fox with a club dressed in a kimono? I don’t know. But its weird.

    and the word Vixen. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear that word soon, and it will be so incorrect and we’ll hear about it for years. But if you dare put a mask on the “whole” thing, you get banned.

    “Orange man BAD!” (hits TV with club)

      It was shocking but also kinda apt to see his tweet that day as Boxing Day is a big date in the fox-hunting calendar, although not this year…

      We have foxes in our garden. I usually see them sleeping in the long grass at the back. One of the reasons we bought this house was because a fox was sleeping in the garden when I came to view it.
